excuse unedited cell phone grammar

as a christian, what is your opinion of* homeless crimes that are classified as crimes of desperation.

the homeless are often viewed as* encroachoachments not only to property values, but to the values of small businesses that depend on the reviews of tourist and residents

crimes of desperation are usually small, petty crimes that ensure incarceration that is usually longer than a week, maybe a month

the homeless petty crimes usually involve stealing bread, breaking a window, or sleeping on private property to be purposely* incarcerated.

according to the editorials that i have read, this is usually done* to escape inclement weather, or to simply sleep in a bed for a few days

what is your opinion as a christian

That's a loaded question. Obviously, more could and should be done to help the poor, as reflected by Jesus' life and ministry. But this is not strictly a "Christian" matter; it's a community and societal matter. There's no reason to single out Christians and put them in charge of this and other related issues.

Law and order must be maintained, so it is hoped that the homeless reach out and seek help, so they need not resort to lawlessness. But again, more could be done by the entire community, not just one segment of the population.

One needn't be Christian to care about our brothers and sisters. Not to mention cousins and in-laws. Occasionally, fierce needs overcome societal norms. Who among us hasn't broken a single law?
