Where does it say this in your bible?.. You do know Jesus Christ is eternal Life and the scriptures are not ? . Peter said YOU(Jesus) have the words of eternal Life. Jesus also told the Pharisees that you think that in the scriptures you have eternal life, but you are wrong they don't but they do testify of me who is eternal life, so how can you say the scriptures and God are inseparable, they are separated by the fact that one is eternal life and the other isn't .

Reject this as much as you want, but on the whole when Jesus(not the gospel writers) quoted scripture it was for correcting and rebuking those who thought the scriptures were eternal life, bearing in mind too, the amount of time he quoted was so few, you bible fundamentalists would have had him down to be loony liberal.

Default my mission is this: treat thy neighbor as thyself

my mission is this: treat thy neighbor as thyself

i dont want someone to impose their belief on me; therefore, i will not encroach on the belief of
a fellow individual

i am not an alarmist who worries about the beliefs or trends of beliefs of other individuals

even though jesus knew that the soilder wouldnt believe, jesus cured the boy regardless

my faith is contingent on this: how i treat my fellow human

people tend to be eager to judge the religious adherance or non-religious adhereance of others. they tend to forget jesus second most important teaching: treat thy neighbor as thyself

Matthew 15:8 (KJV) This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.

even though jesus knew that the soilder wouldnt believe, jesus cured the soilders boy regardless

John 4:48-54 (WEB)
48 Jesus therefore said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders, you will in no way believe.”
49 The nobleman said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”
50 Jesus said to him, “Go your way. Your son lives.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.
51 As he was now going down, his servants met him and reported, saying “Your child lives!”
52 So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour, the fever left him.”
53 So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” He believed, as did his whole house.
54 This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.

other bible verses

Mark 12:31
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

I can testify of Jesus, Peter can testify of Jesus, Thomas can testify of Jesus...but,
they are as much God as someone testifying of Disney World makes them Disney World or even Mickey Mouse.
The map to and of Disney World are not Disney World itself either, my Christian friends.

The road map to Heaven is not Heaven, just as the menu is not the meal...neither is the pot, the spoon, the salt or the pepper.

Disney World is Disney World itself.
The menu is the menu itself.
The pot cooking the meal isn't the meal....the potatoes aren't the meal, either!
They are a part of and a taste of the meal and of what is to come, see?

The whole meal is the meal.

The feeling you get from reading the Bible may give you inspiration
and upliftment in your heart, that is real....but, that is a small taste, a preview of God Himself.

Oh sorry. Not that it expresses unity and harmony among men/people. The scripture itself is unified and harmonious within itself. Nothing contradicts.

God is loving but he's just. If you can't understand that then Jesus dying on the cross is probably lost on you. The wages of sin is death. Wages are earned, deserved. So is just discipline. Our father loves us enough to discipline us but He also knows exactly how corrupt we are in our natural state. We can never be in his presence because he does not/will not/can not abide sin. One continuous thread in the Bible is the sacrifice to atone for sin. Jesus paid it once and for all. Death to the lamb brings life.

Almost! It's God as he reveals himself to us through his written word. It is a preview of heaven.

I have no problem with the word preview of Heaven.
Smelling the food from the kitchen is a preview...but it isn't the meal...that's my point.

Ok, you have a spritual secret club. Apparently, most everyone is included. And your members seem to gang up on the ones that are not part of that club and argue?

Actually those who decide not to be included gang up on others who are not part of their club to argue.

If Christian fundies are in heaven, I won't mind going elsewhere. In fact, I think I'll insist.

jesus cured the romans soldier's boy even though it was blatant to jesus that the roman soldier would not believe. jesus never refused or condemned anybody who asked for help

there are people who seek special numbers in the bible, short cuts to heaven, and bible prophecies to gain knowledge; yet they dont study jesus character or their own heart & intentions towards others

they seek a physical ark of the covenant, yet they do not know that the covenent jesus refers too exists in your heart when it alerts to refrain from wronging or judging a fellow human

i dont know if science can prove if we are endowed with an innate moral compass.

i do, however, regard my moral sense as a innate and a gift from god

that may be pseudoscience, but i believe in a moral compass nevertheless

here is jesus dialogue with the roman soldier:
