It's a special vow one could make as an OT Jew. It's not necessarily a Christian thing. Samson was a Nazarite. It's believed Paul took a temporary Nazarite vow.

Not to be confused with Nazarene. Those are 2 different things.

Lamentations 5:7 - "Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk. they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire:" Jesus is called a Nazarene. Revelation 1:14 states: "His head and his hairs, were white like wool, as white as snow; his eyes were as a flame of fire:" God said. Jesus is that God.
