The following article was recently brought to my attention. I am totally
concerned that Oprah who has so much influence with people might trully believe this stuff!
"Oprah and Friends" to teach course on New Age Christ
[font=Arial]By Warren Smith

So what is A Course in Miracles and what does it teach?

A Course in Miracles is allegedly “new revelation” from “Jesus” to help humanity work through these troubled times.

I was looking for more information and found the A Course in Miracles website.

This is part of what I read there...

The Foundation for Inner Peace is closely associated with the Foundation for A Course in Miracles, a teaching facility in Temecula, California. Founded in 1983 by Dr. Kenneth Wapnick and Gloria Wapnick as an Academy and Retreat Center for A Course in Miracles, it was established "...to help students of A Course in Miracles deepen their understanding of its thought system, conceptually and experientially, so that they may be more effective instruments of the Holy Spirit's teaching in their own lives. Since learning forgiveness without experiencing it is empty, one of the Foundation's specific goals is to help facilitate the process whereby people may be better able to know that their own sins are forgiven, and that they are truly loved by God. Thus is the Holy Spirit able to extend His love through them to others."

I'm so afraid for her and friends, because for some reason I keep getting the feeling that this will be her downfall if she persist and do not turn away from this leading masses of people through the media to destruction. she has all of the charisma to pull it off, along with Tara Banks seemingly trying to follow her footsteps, someone else who is teaching a lot of trash to our young women that are insecure.
The wonderful part about our Saviour is that it's never too late to make a U-turn.

Oprah may be on a wrong path but I believe her motive is to help people.

She has overcome a great deal in her life. I believe the motivation of her heart is pure. She has a deep desire to help others....overcome obstacles.

I posted the link to the actual website in a post above so that we can read the truth about what they're teaching and make our own judgments. Just because so and so says that something is true - don't make it so!

Oprah Winfrey has done more to help children (and others) than probably any of us will ever be able to do in our lifetimes... God has surely blessed her!

This stuff may be new age - or, maybe not... I haven't read all of it.

This thing I do know for certain,...

Oprah needs our prayers - not our condemnation.

Question Do you even know what CONDEMNATION is World Citizen???

I do and no one posting here has condemned her and neither do I. But I will no longer watch her show or support anything that she does.

She is certainly NOT the only person who has gone through struggles and/or abuse and there are many who have done way more for children (and others) besides Oprah (though she is so pompous, she makes it known while others have kept a much lower profile).

And as far as her motivations? Well both you and I can only speculate. I say GREED. Why else does she have a group of ~10 people that she has on the show regularly and promote their books and give them their own shows on her XM Radio station???? Everyone knows if you are on the OPRAH Show, you stand to make a bundle!

Now I have been a strong supporter of Oprah's for over 20 yrs. But over the last several years, I've noticed that she has become way too self absorbed for me. I've noticed on many an occasion, when guests are on her show, she is constantly interrupting them and being a know it all, instead of letting them speak on what they know best. I could go on and on about how she makes herself out to be a god (imo), but really, I don't have the time or the energy to.

So I have decided to say NO to the BIG O! And if others choose to make her and her core group of buddies RICHER, well then, so be it. I will make up my own mind and not have Oprah telling me who to vote for, what books to buy, and what 'favorite' things of hers I should want.

IMO, OPRAH = New Ageism and that is NOT for me! What was once a very enjoyable and informative talk show has now become an OPRAH shoves her agenda on her fans for money show ! I realize that Oprah has a cult-like following and for some, the good that Oprah does will outweigh the truth.

On one thing we do agree though. NOBODY needs condemnation ! Oprah needs prayer (and I can use prayer 2 )! And that's my OPINION (which is all that really matters 2 me LOL )!

Good example of condemnation! Was that your intent, to show how to condemn someone?

Default Yes. I do know what condemnation is...

Yes. Oprah has given many people a start in the world that wouldn't have had the good fortune without her platform... Rachel Ray, Dr. Phil... how many others??? (maybe you don't like Dr. Phil, either)

All of her money that she's spending building schools in Africa is another example of her greed....

And, yes... I do know what condemnation is... (it is the act of condemning - in this context)... as well as what it is to condemn and to judge others.

condemn - Definition from the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary

1: to declare to be reprehensible, wrong, or evil usually after weighing evidence and without reservation
2 a: to pronounce guilty : convict b: sentence, doom
