Have you ever been saved? Everyone in the World has a book in heaven. When you get saved, ALL you sins get erased in your book and God says he will NOT remember them! Now that is a loving God!:-) To get saved, you must believe Jesus is Lord, he died for your sins, and then you must repent of your sins and invite Jesus in your life. Then you must follow him and his word. Then he will seal you with his spirit and you will live with him FOREVER. And you will be saved from hell! That is the reason Jesus died for you. Because he doesn't want you to go there. If you would like to go to heaven for ALL eternity instead of hell bow your head and say this prayer from your heart to Jesus Christ.
I believe in God and is his son Jesus Christ. Jesus I believe you are Lord and you died on the cross to cleanse me of my sins, and I believe you rose again on the third day. In this moment I am asking you to forgive me of every sin that I have ever committed in my life. I am sorry. Jesus, I have made the decision to hand over my life to you. I give you all my life and will follow you the rest of my life. I invite you into my heart. Please come into my heart and put your holy spirit in me. Please wash away the sins of my past with your precious blood and make me new. I give you all my mind, heart and soul. Please make me new through your holy spirit. Please help me discover what your will is for my life. Please take my life and guide me for the rest of my life by your holy spirit. I surrender to you Lord Jesus. Thank you for my salvation. Thank you because I have just been saved and am now your child. Amen Ì

Hmmm, I can't find any of this in the scriptures. Where is the obedience to God? Where is the obeying of the gospel? Where is " He that believes and is baptized shall be saved" ? Where does the word of God say :" Just pray a prayer and your name will be added to the book in heaven" ? Sounds good...but not scriptural!

Every single thing I said is RIGHT from scripture. See for yourself.
It isn't the "prayer" that saves us. It is believing, repenting and turning towards Christ and following him. All of this was included in the prayer if you actually took the time to read it

Are you saying the praying part is not in scripture???
or all that you mentioned above is not in scripture??
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" Romans 10:13
Book of life=Daniel 12:1 Rev 3:5 Phil 4:3

Corking, I appologize for upsetting you. I admit that it was late (for me) and I did not read all of your post. It was the phrase implying a person's name was in the book because of that prayer, that struck my as unscriptural. I have never been impressed with 'prayer books' or the such...since I feel they are putting words into people's mouths that may not be their own. Don't get me wrong, I do follow along with our brethren when they pray for the group.
I read the tract, and it is very scriptural. The church of Christ publishes many tracts on scripture topics. I approve of that, and the giving out of such tracts.
I see you are very young. Please don't let my former post discourage you in your service to God. May God be with you in your search.
