Other sins are absolute - eg envy, adultery stealing etc - and there is no grey area.

good question,I have no idea.perhaps even eating the wrong foods too much could be considered gluttony ..? by that token,wouldn't not exercising enough and things like smoking be considered a form of gluttony,ie-not taking care of the body?
that is why I tend to think of gluttony as being selfish and hogging food and things when others don't have enough..sort of like when Jesus fed the crowd fish,if someone had kept many of the fish all for themselves,and didn't share any with others.
