We are in the process of relocating from coastal NH to the Summerville area outside of Charleston, SC. I am aware that there will be lots of true bible-believing Christian churches to choose from - compared to NH. I am looking for some recommendations to start our search. We are aware of a church called RiverBluff in N.Chas. Our current church is larger (more than 1000 members) and has a lot to offer that makes church feel like a big part of our community.
To get you all started, here are some of what we currently enjoy from church. We are interested in a nondenominational church and looking for a church that comes from a place of love for all, not of division. My husband is not yet saved, so we are looking for a place that is seeker-friendly. We have young children, so a solid children's ministry is important as well. We are comfortable with the more contemporary form of praise and worship. We want to be fed and love to participate in groups beyond just on Sundays. Here in NH, I am a mentor mom for our mother's ministry. We are also a homeschooling family, so a church that has a population of homeschoolers would be great. (not sure we'll meet all these needs, but thought I'd put it all out there!)
Aponieil...as far as size, non-denom, outreach...sounds like my church in Moncks Corner SC, about 20 minutes away from Summerville. Not sure about Summerville proper. I'm sure you could find something closer. You might try a site called churches.sc ...they have a listing for the greater Charleston area. Good luck with your search!
Go to every church you can. Make sure that they teach from the Bible. Watch out for the prosperity gosple types. When you narrow down the list, then you can decide. As of right now, just do the homework, research each church in your area. Check out everything that church is about and compare with others. Also, ask all the quesitons you need to out here. Were more than happpy to assist.
Is Seacoast in simulcast or is there a live preacher? I couldn't figure that out from their site. My husband had the chance to go down to the are this weekend and try out RiverBluff on Sunday and he did like it. We will be trying on more for the right fit once we all land there. I'd welcome more feedback if you have it!
Thanks so far!
