What if we were back in Jesus's time and He came to you and ask if you wanted to be a disciple of His would you follow? Would you be willing to give up your possessions your career, your children etc.? What would draw you to do this to sacrifice everything you had? Just remember that you are in this time realm when Jsus was on Earth

That is a good question, but I don't think any of us can possibly know how we would react. Our circumstances would be so much differant than they are in this day and age.

I don't see why not?
Right now I've got no career or children anywayz.

If Jesus truly is the rebel I think he is I'm sure I would follow him.

If I saw the miracles of 2000 years ago, I'd follow Him (I think). I wouldn't have that many possessions to give up anyway. But, as for people of today, 900 of the People's Temple followed Jim Jones, 38 died for Marshall Applewhite's Heaven's Gate, 76 fied for the Branch Davidians... I don't think Jesus would have any trouble finding followers now. I think he would have trouble finding sane Christians who believed him.

Exactly.

I've often pondered what it would have been link to have lived in Jesus' days.

I like to think that I would have been right there and following everything He said and did and hanging on every word from His mouth, but honestly, chances are much higher I would have been laughing at the foot of the cross shouting 'Crucify Him! Crucify Him!'.

I probably would have.

Sad

I think that Jesus would have more modern-day disciples if, instead of his unworldly philosophy, he were a prophet of Keynesian economic theory. Christians today seem to be more concerned with siding with the "smart money" than worrying about their spiritual betterment. I think I would have to agree with Mr. Alpha8207; I'd be shouting: "Give us Barabbas!"

LOL Alpha and Wendell just gave me more respect for the disciples and the early followers for what they were up against..I have a way of taking up for the underdog so I probably would have been crying at the foot of the cross in sympathy for His torture and also for the other two.

Did any of the twelve turn Him down?

He chose who would follow, so i must say if chosen then following would be automatic.

godspeed,

freedom

Now that's ^ a good point...

So June's thinking for all she really knows, it could have been the end of June as June currently knows herself!

(Now there's a thought.)

Stunned.

Simply stunned.
