I have wasted all of my life and have done nothing for the Lord (at least in my eyes). I am embarking upon a new journey in my life and want to be an instrument for Him. What can I do for the Lord for the rest of my life and still be able to make a living? Does that question even sound right? I hope you all understand what it is I am trying to say. Thanks for your thoughts.

In Matthew 26:34-40 Jesus teaches that when we do things for others it is the same as doing it to Him. All you have to do is ask Him to show you how you can served Him and He will.

You could be a missionary for an established church that will fund your missions. Also, I know there are various Protestant monestaries - if you are fully serious, I think you could go live in one of those places and spend the rest of your life in worship, etc. It would be a big leap, but people do it. I guess you can't save $$ doing these things, but you can probably subsist.

Jhn 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Jhn 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
If we would do this, then we would always hear His voice and be lead minute by minute, even see His face.

Regardless of what occupation/vocation you find yourself in, be it a prophet or a Wal Mart greeter, do it as Christ would have you do it.
There is a great need in this world for honorable workers, in all occupations.
You could volunteer with a good group. You can witness where ever you go. I just ask God to bring people into my life that I can share Christ with.
We live in a college town and we had five children so we built a big home. After the kids all grew up we really prayed how we should use the space. We have opened our home the past 12 years as a causal B&B. Then we donate that money to Christian groups. It has been such a blessing for us. Just be available and creative and God will use you.

Hi there!
I understand exactly what you mean by this. I noticed that you posted this in May 2007. Have you found an answer yet?

Simple, just do unto others as you would have done unto you. And others includes those that villify or persecute you.
