I think you assume depression/sorrow are a sin...less than perfect.
the bible says Jesus felt everything us humans do ...that would include intense sorrow...
I dont think alpha ment Jesus manifested clinical depression...yet felt intense saddness which could coorelate with mans sense of depression..Yet Still he IS perfect, without sin....I cant see clinical depression( hormone imbalance) being sin....
I didn't say that sorrow is a sin, sorrow is based in compassion and mourning, feeling for others.
"During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.
Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek..."
Hebrews 5:7-10 NIV
"The writer has forcefully made his point that Jesus shared our human life. He was qualified to be high priest because of his common nature with us and his compassion..."
taken from the Zondervan NIV Bible Commentary

Can a Christian Be Depressed? Your thoughts, please.
Absolutely! Being a child of God does not make us exempt from diseases, trials and struggles! And God understands and is there for us... He offers hope and healing. As we trust in Him, He will comfort us.. we may not be healed in our own time, but through the darkest valley, His rod and staff will guide. And finally when life is over, all earthly pain will be forever gone..

YES!!!! 2 Corinthians 4:18 "So we don't look at the troubles we can see right now, rather we look forward to what we have not yet seen. For the troubles we see will soon be over, but the joys to come will last forever".
you can get depressed, repressed, stressed, and just plain tired right in the middle of trying to do whatever it is God has called you to do. I think thats why the Bible says there is a season for everything. (IMHO) good thing about seasons is that they dont last forever.

Amen to that, arguy!
In other words, What is discouragment???
If you look up Depression and/or Discouragment in your Naves Topical Bible, it will refer you to Despondency.
You will find many scripture references to and causes for depression (despondency)
And then you can look up Affliction, Consolation under.
There you'll find many good Scriptures to encourage and help you ... to fight back!
