And as I said, it's age defined - 5 years here, 10 minutes there - who's to say He doesn't know what He's doing? I do know that He won't pull us out until He can see His reflection.
"Let us make man in our image" is not just for Genesis readers.

For the sins of the world - the process of refining is nessesary because the cross must be applied to us. As He said, "if any man follow me let him take up his cross". Flesh cannot enter in - it must be done away with.

Whaaaaat????? Can you expand. was Jesus not the sacrificial lamb? why was he sacrificed and to who? Jesus took our place, he died for us, He took upon Him God's wrath that was meant for us, the bible says, It pleased God to pour His wrath on His Son. What is God's wrath?

The notion that we would not suffer as followers of Him is inconsistant with scripture - and is detrimental to our relationship with Him. He will have a people that will show forth His glory, and He will not share it with the flesh. He is a refiner's fire, and you'll know from a goldsmith that (He) won't remove it from the fire until He can see His reflection in it.
Quote:
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us. (1 Cor 5:5-7)
|
Notice that Christ is the propitiation for our sin, but the call is to follow after Him.
Quote:
|
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (Mat 16:24, Luke 9:23)
|
We are to bear fruit, but before His seed can reproduce it must die. Even the Lord made mention of this.
Quote:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. (Jn 12:24)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. (Jn 13:16)

Sadly, most Christians don't. If you preach the message of the cross in an adult Sunday school class, for instance, several people will add to your numbers. Preach it on the main stage however, and you'll be asked to shut up or leave. People don't like to hear it, except those that see the Spirit's work in their lives.
God uses everything (Rom 8:28). He has control of all things in our lives (2 Cor 4:15), though most people see bad things are happening to them because of the devil - that's not scriptural, and it's not true.
We should thank Him for everything that comes our way - especially the tough times - for those are the times of deepest cleansing. (Rom 8:18, 2 Cor 1:5-7, 1 Pet 4:13)

Then I think you have fallen victim to the eternal torment myth.

Sorry, I reread the post and realized it was flying off topic...
Basically Rev 21:14 declares that an eternal (our definition) place of damnation is not what He has planned for His creation.
Quote:
|
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
|
But these "former things" include the wood, hay and stubble that is not Him.
Quote:
|
For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many. (Isa 66:16)

Christ Triumphant HERE
An enlightening word from C. Spurgeon=
Quote:
|
When you die your soul will be tormented alone; that will be a hell for it: but at the day of judgment your body will join your soul, and then you wilt have twin hells, your soul sweating drops of blood, and your body suffused with agony. In fire, exactly like that we have on earth, your body will lie, asbestos like, for ever unconsumed, all your veins roads for the feet of pain to travel on, every nerve a string, on which the devil shall for ever play his diabolical tune of hell's unutterable lament.
|
Dear St. John: You must be mistaken!
"And the leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations. And there shall no longer be a curse upon anything."
