Most pastors will not use the bible as a way to uplift people's spirits....at least that is what I've seen in most churches....

New International Version:
I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten.
BibleGateway.com - Passage*Lookup: Joel 2:25;;
I didn't know this thread required specifying versions. or using only one specific version. I'd be glad to if such rules were indicated somewhere.
Such niggling, which is off-thread, and which appears in no other post in this thread, reminds me of why I never read nor post in this forum, and now will continue to stay away.

This one I find myself reciting most often to myself:
Micah 7:8 - Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.

But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. MATTHEW 23:11-12

Not me, why wouldn't a paster use the Word of God to uplift people, I would stay away from a church like that.

A favorite scripture for comfort

7The LORD said, "(G)I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for (H)I am sorry that I have made them."

What? God did not say He was sorry he made humor.
