Just for you freedom, although I'm sure you've seen it before, because I have posted this on other gay bashing threads that you seem so fond of. As I said before you will probably disregard it because it conflicts with your holy book.

The brains of gay men and women look like those found in heterosexual people of the opposite sex, research suggests.
The Swedish study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences journal, compared the size of the brain's halves in 90 adults.
Gay men and heterosexual women had halves of a similar size, while the right side was bigger in lesbian women and heterosexual men.
A UK scientist said this was evidence sexual orientation was set in the womb.

Brains are formed throughout the years of infant, adolescent, and adult.
Once can't say that they were born with the same brain.

I read the article and the studies show it was done on ADULTS not on infants.

The brain is formed in the womb...the electrical connections from learning are formed during the infant and adolescent years. This is why it's harder for adults to learn new things than it is for a child. This isn't to say that adults CAN'T learn new things, but the learning process is slower.

What does this verse mean?

Jer 8:8 New American Standard Bible (1995)
"How can you say, 'We are wise, And the law of the LORD is with us'? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes Has made it into a lie.

Matt 15:2 King James Bible
Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread.

King James Bible
But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?

If you use Leviticus to assess what is sin and what you need to repent of and then sin no more you can not pick and choose what part of those laws you like eg homosexuality and disregard the ones you don't like, eg observance of the sabbath, shellfish is abomination, etc.

Quote:
Note: For a more amusing look at the Levitical Law this gem was posted on the bulletin board awhile back...

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Laura Schlessinger is a US radio personality who dispenses advice to people who call in to her radio show. Recently, she said that homosexuality is an abomination according to Leviticus 18:22 and cannot be condoned under any circumstances. The following is an open letter to Dr. Laura penned by a US resident:

Dear Dr. Laura,

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your show and I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind him or her that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination. End of debate. I do need some advice from you however, regarding some of the specific laws and how to follow them.

(a) When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a
pleasing odor for the Lord (Lev. 1:9). The problem is my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

(b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

(c) I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness (Lev. 15:19-24). The problem is, how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.

(d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and
female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

(e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on Sunday (the Sabbath). In the book of Exodus verse 35:2 it clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

(f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an
abomination (Lev. 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than
homosexuality. I don't know. Can you settle this?

(g) Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a
defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

(h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair
around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27. How should they die?

(i) I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

(j) My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? (Lev.24:10-16). Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14).

I know you have studied these things extensively, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging, and we should do what the bible says.

I thought we already cited Romans where it speaks about homosexuality???

BTW - I highly suggest you read the WHOLE passage before trying to make a sermon out of 1 verse.

Dcm22, I totally agree with you! Gay people are people too and I think they should be able to enjoy marriage just like straight people do. The fact that some people think homosexuals should STOP being gay is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard in my life. You cannot change your sexuality. It would be the same as asking a anti-gay hetero to start liking the same sex. Anyway, Catholics do not think it is a sin to be gay, they just think it is a sin to act upon your feelings. Well, I don't know about you, but repressing all your feelings has got to be pretty dang depressing if you ask me. I'm on your side Dcm22!!!

Your POV doesn't surprise me,
Living in S.F. and Having no regard for the word of God presents a dilema on a Christian forum, why do you think your opinion would be credible at all to those that believe the word of God.

godspeed,

freedom

This is why I wrote earlier that science isn't always right.
There are many child molesters that say they were born that way, AND science is now proving that these people have no choice in being predators.
Renriq,

I would suggest we draw the line at the 10 commandments

Quote:
The 10 Commandments - God's Revelation in the Old Testament
The 10 Commandments are found in the Bible's Old Testament at Exodus, Chapter 20. They were given directly by God to the people of Israel at Mount Sinai after He had delivered them from slavery in Egypt:

"And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God…

ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'

TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'

THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'

FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'

FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'

SIX: 'You shall not murder.'

SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'

EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'

NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'

TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'

The 10 Commandments - Christ's Summation in the New Testament
About 1,400 years later, the 10 Commandments were summed up in the New Testament at Matthew 22, when Jesus was confronted by the religious "experts" of the day:

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments" (Matthew 22:36-40).

A reflective reading of Christ's teaching reveals that the first four commandments given to the children of Israel are contained in the statement: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." It continues that the last six commandments are enclosed in the statement: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
Sin is trangression of the law - a child molester is transgressing the law.

ahhhh picking and choosing what we think is right from wrong.

sounds like how abortion is being played out. We play God for a day.

Soon we will legalize child molesters.
In some countries they allow this...and the US will soon be there with the way we're going
