IN revelations we read of "the wine-press of the wrath of God". Many fundamentalist Christians read this and imagine to themselves God in his wrath throwing most of the worlds inhabitants into a giant literal torture device(eternal hell) where he will literally press their bodies together until they explode like bursting grapes, the blood and the gore splashing everywhere to satiate the insatiable and eternal violence and wrath of God. But this literal bursting of the bodies of most humans will not merely end in their demise, but they will be miraculously healed over and over again throughout eternity in order so that God can throw them in again over and over again throughout eternity and relish in the infinite suffering of most of his creation.

What a terrible image, what an awful fate waits in store for the vast majority of humanity ...

That is of course unless we recognize the symbolism of this analogy concerning Gods wrath.

What is the purpose of a wine-press? You throw in grapes and crush them, of that there can be no doubt, but the question is what is the product of crushing these grapes? New wine ... Do you put new wine into old wine skins? And what of the wine that is procured from pressing the grapes of humanity?

The symbolism of Gods wrath being likened to a wine-press reveals to us what the rest of scriptures reveal concerning Gods wrath and judgment, that they are for the purpose of correction and teaching righteous to those who are so judged. And what will be the product of this judgment of wrath? All those who are crushed in the wine-press of Gods wrath will come out on the other side as new wine, and they will be placed into new wine skins ...

Peace ...

Thanks, Ironmaw. Much better explanation for those passages than the mid-evil () interpretations.

Sometimes a chair is just a chair.

The OT archetype for Rev 19:11-21 is Isaiah 63:1-6....
in Is 63, people [Edomites] are thrown into the wine press
of God, and blood does splatter staining the clothing of
God's warrior... just as the man on the white horse of
Rev 19 has blood stained clothing.

Sometimes, men and women who are thirsting for supernatural wars and signs, because they are empty and fearful within, take passages of scripture literally when they should be using the Spirit to interpret them spiritually, thus spreading fear, terror, crusades and inquisitions.

What kind of men burn folks at the stake for disagreeing with their interpretation of scripture? What kind of men feed Old Testament-type sermons to their masses in the pews? What kind of men talk of war and prop up the biggest, most powerful military machine in history?? Men who never knew Christ or his message.

Fruits of the Spirit: ???

Or perhaps you are unable to recognize the symbolism for what it is because you interpret scripture with a carnal understanding?

The symbolism is obvious, and my explanation of it is clear ... The only way to make new wine is to crush Grapes in a wine press ... Period.

I am not saying that Gods judgment does not have a literal physical manifestation, but it is the purpose for judgment and what judgment produces that i am writing about.

The winepress of the wrath of God in Revelations 14:19 and Revelations 19:15...... is the authority of the Blood of Jesus Christ cleaning the earth for the purpose of renewal of his potentually lost church to better days in the earth for Heaven and Gods Children, the winepress is the Blood of Jesus Christ which is everything in the Spirit of Heaven were all power has been given by the Father God

Like the Israelites in Jeremiah's day...
those who seek to escape the wrath
of God are the very ones who need it.

And it shall come to pass at that time,
that I will search Jerusalem with candles,
and punish the men that are settled
on their lees: that say in their heart...
"The LORD will not do good,
neither will He do evil."

Zephaniah 1:12
