The first step is hearing. The second is believing. The third is obeying. The fourth is remaining faithful until death.

If any lack wisdom, let them ask of God, who gives to all men/women liberally, and upbraideth not.

ASK, SEEK, KNOCK... This is the way to fulfill Christ.

Freedom, you ask "How did we get so far from the truth?" First of all what took place, was giving attributes to only one man when all people posses the same. Then trying to sale salvation in church when it doesn't even belong there. You ask allot of people what is "Christ"the first thing they do is start telling you about Jesus. Being "the Christ" is a title bestowed upon the person Jesus. Being the Christ is a state of beingness, this is reflected or manifested in one actions. This is why Jesus said "as I have done so can you and more." All peoples have the ability to manifest the Christ, this doesn't belong to just one person as the church would like you to believe. This is where the church has strayed from its path and twisted the truth.

Completely agree, we are all to take His name upon us, in becoming Christ.

What a strange question! Just because I did not say ," The first is hearing the word of Christ. The second is believing the word of Christ. The third is obeying the word of Christ. The fourth is remaining faithful to Christ until death. Those with just a little common sense knew what I meant!

How did we get so far from the truth?

Is it to late to renew our minds and to buy the gold that is tried in the fires of our own souls, that we might be rich, and to be clothed in white raiment that the shame of our nakedness will not appear?

Please cite a list of things that Christ didn't accomplish.

I thought He said "It is finished!" I didn't realize there were translations out there that read "It is mostly finished!"

I'm all ears folks. I challenge you to show me where we are holy by our works.....

PS There's scriptures that will throw you guys under the bus. Make sure you know your Bible and your Savior!

He didn't perfect me yet... He didn't overcome my weaknesses yet... He didn't live my life yet.

When He said it is finished, i think He was speaking of His mission and the laying down of His life. He hasn't finished our growth yet, we are works in progress.
As well, He hadn't ascended to the Father yet, He hadn't returned to the Apostle's yet. He hadn't come for a second time yet.

If all was done, why are we still here, and why are children still being born and being given a life in which to choose.

If it was all done, we would all be in our divine nature and with the Father.

2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Jam 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

Rev 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

If you care to read these verses in the context they were given, for a fuller picture of what we are capable of when we walk with God.

When we strengthen that which remains we will be found perfect. This last exhortation to the churches is to give us the knowledge that we have a part in all this, and we will be held accountable for our actions and decisions.

godspeed,

freedom

I don't know about anyone else, but I need Jesus to do the heavy lifting because without HIM I can do nothing and there is nothing worth doing. In fact my troubles really begin when I try to take matters into my own hands. Jesus said "come onto me all ye that are heavy laden for my burden is easy and my yoke is light." The implication here is that Jesus wants to do the "heavy lifting". We can seek to be righteous, but our righteousness is nothing. We need HIS righteousness because only HE has paid the price...

very few are willing to put their christian selves on the line on ther job or with their family.
there is the god in the church on sunday
there is the god at the office
and the god at the house.
the one at the office is named bottom line
the one at home is named harmony at any cost and the high priest is mama.
you mess those up and the people at the church won't be talkin to you much.
