It has been the Gentiles time but that time will come to an end.

When He appears to us we will be translated/transfigured/quickened. This can happen anytime one is prepared to receive the fulness of Christ.

If you're inferring to Yeshua then you're wrong about it's meaning.
It means 'to save' and if you go to a synagogue then you will hear them use it quite often as 'salvation'
Jesus comes from Joshua, which comes from Jeshua...which means powerful...

Then what do these verses mean, freedom?

I'm going to post them in your Young's translation and then the NIV.

It's pretty simple. Take the Jeremiah passage "The Lord Our Righteousness" and hold it against this one and see what you walk away with.

Simply put: Christ is all we can ever do. He does the work in us. We can do nothing. It's all about Jesus, bro. It's all about Jesus.
and of Him ye -- ye are in Christ Jesus, who became to us from God wisdom, righteousness also, and sanctification, and redemption,

31that, according as it hath been written, `He who is glorying -- in the Lord let him glory.' I Cor 1:30-31 (Young's)
But here it is in the NIV--crystal clear brother!!!
It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord." I Cor 30-31
Christ IS our righteousness.

Christ IS our holiness.

Christ IS our redemption.

CHRIST IS THESE THINGS!

So, yeah, Jesus did do it all but that is not a license to sin and be ok with mediocrity. Indeed, the bar has been raised. But where we succeed and fail, Christ has overcome. He's bigger than my failures and bigger than my successes.

Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe.

I don't disagree with Who Jesus Is and what He does for us, "if". I disagree with the way Christianity takes the Righteousness of Jesus and assumes it upon itself no matter if they walk in the Spirit or the Flesh.

We are not redeemed if we walk after the flesh. If we walk in the flesh we will not inherit the kingdom of God.

He will say be gone from me, i never knew you, ye that worketh iniquity.

freedom if we are IN CHRIST, then these things are true.

If we are not IN CHRIST then these things are false.

Also, these comments on what the name means and doesn't mean are off-topic, please start a new thread.

Ahhh, now we are getting somewhere... I am not in Christ... but i hope to be.
I walk after the flesh and not in the Spirit, so i am none of His.
No magic prayer or church attendance or Priest or Minister can make one IN Christ.
Look up the verses of who they are that are "IN Christ"

Amen Freedom!

I am rereading this awesome, awesome book called "Into His Presence" "How to find the ultimate Treasure", by Dr. Francis Sizer and to be honest, it is unbelievable. This ex-Catholic Priest, looks at the shadow of the old covenant and its earthly tabernacle and applies to the Jesus led New Covenant. Here is a piece:

Quote:
We notice that at times the world persecutes the traditional type of believer. It seems to mock the Spirit-Led believer. The enemy will surely try to crucify the believer who presses into the Most Holy Place. Those that have a form of godliness but lack the power therein are NO threat to the kingdom of darkness. Only overcomers who deny themselves and take up their cross daily threaten the enemy
Here is another piece:

Quote:
Let me describe to you in more detail this new order of end-time believer. They will have a strong sense of head-ship in Jesus Christ. They will resist the traditional pressures of religion that submits to the approval of men. They understand obedience and respect authority but recognize it is better to obey God than men. They are NOT rebels. There is no rebellion found in them. They are simply given over to the absolute word and will of God. They abandon all to follow Him. They are faithful to the least as well as to the greatest things.

Such obedience comes out of extreme faith and confidence in the will of God as sovereign. Their faith is in God regardless of the circumstances. They have such confidence in the Greater Power of God in them, that whatever happens to them is regarded more as the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit than the destructive work of the enemy.
Pretty powerful stuff here. This is how close I wish to be with God. I yearn to be in His Presence!! Another piece in the same chapter following the above:

Quote:
This company is nonreligious. They SEE the difference between religion and relationship. They do not need religion because they have a personal relationship with God. Religion means sacrifice: Relationship means obedience. They are non materialistic. They have learned with Paul to be content in whatever state they are. It does not matter what they have or have not. Thier confidence is in their God who provides. They think spirit, not flesh. They think eternal, not temporal.

Their experiences in the Spirit are not an end in themselves but a means for attaining the higher goal of Him. These are member of local churches without walls, They have gone outside the camp with Christ bearing His reproach. At times some churches become like walled cities keeping others unlike them out. God is not interested in building Christian social clubs or country clubs. Rather He is calling for a people to go out to gather them into His Kingdom
Wow, I could just keep typing, as these words are strikingly powerful. Ok, just another one, then I shall let you all decide whether to buy it.

Quote:
The ONLY wall that God is interested is the wall of fire in Zechariah 2:5
"For I will be a wall of fire about HER, and I will be the Glory IN HER Midst"
They have taken no honors, no names, and no recognition for themselves; they are nameless and faceless except in the name of Jesus shining on their face. They gather in no other name but His Name. They hear no other voice but that of the Good Shepherd. They are joined to no one but Him. They are bought at a price. They have no life to live, but His life
Thoughts?
