Where would we be if the blood of Christ, could not wash away the sin of murder, it would cast doubt in our hearts. We can have the assurance That the blood shed can and does wash away ALL sin.
AMEN!!!

There are those who have said that someone who has murdered is going to Hell, regardless. How would you resolve / explain this or do you think that his actions condemned him and he was not forgiven?
St Paul was involved in the stoning of St Stephen and in the persecution of early Christians - all this before his conversion.
19" 'Lord,' I replied, 'these men know that I went from one synagogue to another to imprison and beat those who believe in you. 20And when the blood of your martyr[a] Stephen was shed, I stood there giving my approval and guarding the clothes of those who were killing him.'
If St. Paul is in hell, I hope he keeps the lights on for me.
Another question - if we believe the blood of Christ can wipe away the sin of murder, why are we so quick to want to execute prisoners? Why are we not ministiring to them and hoping they will repent?

I believe many, if not most are "ministered" to. Many repent, but they are still subject to "the law of the land". It's those who support the death penalty, that will have to answer for their support of it.

A dicey subject. If God is unchanging - and I don't know many Christians who would argue - then the OT supports the death penalty in severe cases.
I learned from a minister, who specialized in Bible History in seminary, that the Judaic "eye for eye" codes were to LIMIT the amount of retribution because it was turning into a Hatfield-McCoy type situation.
Listen, I did want to mention I did not start this to discuss the death penalty but thinking about the comment on murderers thought that maybe if people actually believed they went to Hell, repentant or not, then I could understand their view on the death penalty. But it sounds like that was an isolated view of one person in one thread - by far not the overwhelming view. [I know many support the death penalty]
