Of course the inspirations the Lord gives us should be new, as His mercies are new. A walk with the Lord is exciting and new. But if you are talking about a revelation of new truth (change in doctrine etc).. then no, this shouldn't have to happen if the church has been diligent... and if they have been practicing their spiritual maintenence program, resulting in a continually "new" and living, abundant walk.
Sign me up - the church I attended grew moss on the north side, perhaps resulting in the rise of the message of the cross (which was good, deep, relationship based teaching) and ultimately the restitution of all, which seemed to lead a lot of people into new age thinking - which I detest, btw.

But there is more (of Him), of that I'm convinced - the issue is whether it's expedient to probe the depths of our understanding, when the Lord has not shined a light there as yet. I don't have anything against a saint "pressing in" to know Him deeper, but that's a funny thing sometimes.

It appears that is what is happening right now!
Many have the "Prego sauce" religious mentality (remember their slogan - "It's in there!).

I start with Him - then work outwards.
