Alpha and theWordIsOne...
theWordIsOne,....
I'm sorry I got your thread off topic. Maybe Alpha can move our study on blessing to a new thread for us??? (or maybe you want to start one)
sorry!
oh yeah, and btw -- I think the Mormon's thought that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I don't think they believe in prophets now, do they?
BUT -- I'd really rather study blessing and things that build us up more than things where people get mean and angry, wouldn't you???
So... now... did you follow all of that or did I lose you???

TheWordisOne,
I think you misunderstood what I said.
I was enjoying our study.
I said that I WOULD LIKE to continue our discussion.
I just wondered if you wanted to move it to it's own thread...
Do you want to start a new thread for a study about bless...to be blessed,... and the power of the blessing ?
I'm so sorry. You must have misunderstood me...

BLESS, BLESSING (Heb. barakh)
1. God blesses nature (Genesis 1:22), humankind (Genesis 1:28), the Sabbath (Genensis 2:3), nations (Psalm 33:12) , classes of people (Psalm 1:1-3), and individuals (Genesis 24:1).
2. Godly people should "bless" God; i.e., they should adore him, worship him, and praise him, (Psalm 103:1-2)
3. Godly people by words and actions can bestow blessings on others (Matthew 5:44; 1 Peter 3:9)
4. Godly men bestowed prophetic blessings on their descendants (Genesis 9:26-27); (Genesis 27:27-29, 39-40; 49); (Deuteronomy 33)
5. People can bless things by setting them apart for sacred use, e.g., the "communion cup", (1 Corinthians 10:16).

God achieves His own ends through liberating His subjects. God rules by blessing. We are to bless, and curse not.
