Type in any Christmas song and see what the little
puppets do.
Also, type in any non-Christmas song and you'll get a
kick out of the response. They also get mixed up sometimes and sing the
wrong one....

there were 3 wise men?

He was probably born on the day of Simchat Torah which would make perfect sense if He was...
It would've been September/October I believe...(during Jesus time)

Default Christ

I heard an arguement the other day that should make both sides happy. We have Martin Luther King Day, and Columbus Day which celebrate 2 leaders of a sort. No religion involved even though King was a preacher and Columbus was a Catholic I believe. Jesus was a Jew and His teaching started Christianity. We pay our respects to this great teacher and savior whether it be secular or religious, Christmas is for all no matter their faith.

Then why not have a Buddha day? A Krishna day? Shiva Day? Vishnu Day?

Eh, they'd probably compromise on some conglomerate of a holiday...like they've done in the past with all of the current holidays that are celebrated.

We do have an atheist day! I heard it was April 1.

If they change the date of Christmas, I won't know when to celebrate my brother's birthday.

Christmas is observed in America as a secular holiday. So why as Believers do we play along.

I'd like to see believers shun all excess materialism associated with our observance of the birth of Jesus. Solemn worship over consumer purchase.

I'm not saying that the tradition of gift giving is completely misplaced, it just that the secular commercialism that most of us (including freedom) express gives the world a target to manipulate and exploit the true purpose, and may distract from pure reflection and devotion.

If you agree, are there any ideas on how you would or do observe a non-secular celebration of the birth of Christ?

godspeed,

freedom
You make some good points, and you had me thinking as well. From what I read, and I not exactly sure about the dates; but I did read some where where chrisitians in the USA didn't always celebrate Christimas because they looked at the holiday as pagan. But what I find interesting was back in the 1700 or 1600s merchants and businessmen decided that they could make money if people bought and exchanged gifts on Christmas for their children. That's how this whole secular Christmas celebration started, even though we don't know the exact date when Jesus was born, and now the rest is history.

I do like the spirit of the holiday and the decorations, even though the tree has a pagan influence and St. Nick is based on a person who did give gifts to the poor.

I am not too fond of the secularism of it nor am I fond of the fact that many people think it's some how only about baby Jesus. Christmas is more than the nativity scene.

As a Christian, I know and fully understand that my Lord and Savior gave up His life for me and everyone, and as a result of His ransom sacrifice, I have the gift of Salvation. Every day is Christmas to a christian. Thank you JESUS!!!!!

27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world

Give to others, and be happy that God choose YOU to put a smile on someone's face....and tell them that Jesus LOVES THEM!
And make sure you impose religion on to other people!!!

Tell them BUDDHA LOVES THEM!!!

Buddha is dead.....Jesus is alive

If Buddha loved us then why didn't he come back from the grave?
