New Delhi: A Mexican issue of the Playboy magazine showing the cover of a model allegedly posing like the Virgin Mary has caused outrage among some Catholics.
December is the month in which (m) millions of Mexican Catholics celebrate the festival of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which showcases a rich variety of Virgin Mary images.

Oh God! I know I am going to get flamed for this comment, but I just have to let it out after listening to Fox News and hearing a Priest villify Playboy about ethics, values, how can they go home to their children, how wrong and how could anybody justify something so vile.
It amazes me how the Catholic Church charges at full speed on the media about some gal posing in a magazine like we are all going to suffer eternal damnation, but yet they will spend millions to protect pedofiles while the flock turns a blind eye.

Yup...you were right...there's at least one of us that's a little bit angry. Say it's the Catholic Church? Sure. Go right ahead. But you had better add a whole lot of other people and churches in there as well before you go blasting just the Catholics. Hypocrites? Sure. Every last one of us on Earth is. Including yourself. Pedophiles? They exist in every denomination, career, town, etc. There was no pint to your post other than to stir the pot, and yea, I'm guilty of taking the bait, but seeing a MODERATOR stir the pot like that? Wow.

This has become an acceptable form of bullying, trying to goad anyone who's religious by degrading anything that represents any part of their religion. When the free speech is created just to insult and goad a religious sect, which isn't just Catholics but other Christian denominations, it's interesting to see some race to their defense. What bothers me about it is they're liars, saying it's not the mother of Jesus. If they believe most will believe that, they're far more stupid than they think we are. I guess they're not so proud of their message or they wouldn't be lying about it. Personally, I just view it as another roll in the gutter for haters. |
