I am speaking of the doctrine that is presently being taught, that all that Jesus said to his disciples following the last supper is to all of the 'believers' here and now, and not just to the disciples that were with Him at the supper. I am speaking of all that is recorded in John 14,15,16,and 17. I am espacially thinking of what He said about sending another Comforter; the Helper; the Spirit of truth, who would teach them all things, and bring to their minds all things that He had said to them. He said this to the 12, not to us!!!!! The entire discourse is Jesus reminding them of all that they would go through, and all that they were to do, after He was no longer with them.
It is a terrible distortion to 'interpret' it as it is being interpreted by the present religious groups!
Multitudes are being led astray by this new teaching!

All that He said to them came to pass, and the Comforter did teach them all that Jesus promised, and it is now recorded in the Holy Scriptures.

There is a spirit that is leading (or rather..misleading) many people now, but it is not the one that Jesus promised to the Apostles that day.

I beg of you, please reread all that Jesus said in those chapters, and be sure and note who He was speaking to. I care for your eternal souls.... search the scriptures to see if this is the truth!

1 John 3:23 ¶ And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
4:1 ¶ Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Ro 8:1 ¶ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 ¶ And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12 Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

And just how and when does this Spirit get into us??? It is given to those who are baptized into the Father, the Son, and The Holy Spirit, for the remission of their signs. It is a promise that was given on that long ago day of Pentecost, and is still being given in the same manner. He ( the Spirit) is the earnest of our inheritance.

There are many, many other scriptures about the Spirit recorded in the Bible. All of the ones found in the New Testament are in the thread that I posted on Him.
But they do not cancel out what Jesus was talking about in those 4 chapters in John.

I am totally expecting a lot of flack for what I have posted here. I have broad shoulders...with the strength that my faith in Jesus gives me...I can take it. I can do all things in Him who strengthens me.

If it gets too nasty, I will just back away, and let you all have at it! It will probably soon disappear into the archives, as the one on the Holy Spirit has...

Surely there are a few honest souls here who recognizes that what I posted about the 4 chapters in John are accurate. Hopefully they are brave enough to speak up!

His word never ends, and He does not hold back any blessing to any of His children that live according to His righteousness.

He is no respector of persons or positions.

If we receive any promise, it is based on living according to the principles upon which it is predicated.

How does one receive a fulness of God, if the Holy Spirit is withheld.

Lastly, Jesus said His words were not for these alone, but for everyone that comes to God, through the Holy Spirit.

The Second comforter is Jesus Christ himself, and He said that He would appear to all those that kept His word.

godspeed,

freedom

Of course I don't think this was meant for me alone. Good grief. But I know I am one of them. Now...are you insinuating that I am then filled with evil?
