Celebrating the birthday wasn't the sin, it was the beheading of John the Baptist that was the sin, if you can't see the difference.
As for self worship that is a whole other issue, and debatable at best.

The only two birthday celebrations in the bible (herrod's and pharoah's) resulted in the heinous execution of someone. And it's quite easily researched that the early Christian congregation did not get involved with them...I find those facts significant. You don't? That is fine. I'm not asking you to.

Well the fact that wedding anniversaries aren't mentioned in the bible could be significant also. There are alot of things not mentioned in the bible, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't enjoy them.

No. I don't. As a Christian, I understand that the Law covenant and all related festivals came to and end, from God's standpoint, at Pentecost. So even though the rededication of the temple was an important event in the history of God's people, there is no reason for Christians to commemorate it.

But there is mention of wedding celebrations...very significant I'd say. Yes, there is much not mentioned in the bible that we can enjoy.. I agree. But if I have reason to believe that a celebration is not approved by God, I avoid it.

It does not. But the bible is not the only book we have that explains the activities of the early Christians. We use the bible as our principal guide...and supplement it with research when questions arise.
