Luk 7:31 “To what, then, can I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?
Luk 7:32 They are like children sitting in the marketplace and calling out to each other:
“ ‘We played the flute for you,
and you did not dance;
we sang a dirge,
and you did not cry.’
Luk 7:33 For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’
Luk 7:34 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and “sinners.” ’
Luk 7:35 But wisdom is proved right by all her children.”

If I lived by sight, I could hardly continue to make the decisions you find difficult to comprehend. I live by faith,...but I also use reason. I have supreme confidence in God and his ability to protect his people and to fulfill his purpose. However, I am also human, which means I have a brain and the natural desire to learn. So though I live my life by bible principles, I also believe it is my DUTY as a Christian to learn all I can about the activities of the early congregation as well as the history of Christendom's churches. When I have a question about a city inthe bible that no longer exists...I have to search history books to learn about it. When I wonder why a church teaching seems is such direct conflict with the scriptures, I research the history of that teaching to discover the reason. In this way, I've been able to prove to myself beyond the shadow of a doubt that the bible is trustworthy. And therefore use it confidently to back up my beliefs.

" ..be wise as serpents and harmless as doves." I know, this was spoken to the twelve, but I would think it still applies to all of us.

I live by faith, but also use Godly reason too. I don't need scientists or historians to tell me how I should believe, for the most part it is bible alone for me.

The key phrase there being 'most part', which means you do read other books as well. Just like me.

Yes I read other books, but when they contradict the bible, I don't believe them.

Then we agree! Because if there is anything I've learned in my studies, it is that the bible can be truested. Thanks.

Whatever reason, Revelation is full of star inagery. ... ...Please allow me to correct myself... ...as I read over the posts' again this morning, I realize that I didn't say what I meant to say...what I meant to say is this...I believe that on December 25, 2 BC Jesus was conceived, and Jupiter convecting with Regulus, (the TWO "KINGSHIP" PLANETS...THAT GOD CONTROLS IN HIS HANDS), gave the Magi the sign! When John, an old man, was alone on the island of Patmos, he wrote the Book of Revelations while he starred up into the sky,(thus all the star imagery in Revolutions)...PLEASE READ MY THREAD>>>GOD STILL SPEAKS TO US TODAY...!...Thanks!...Love
