Woops, but they didnt visit him at his birth. They visited him in a house. So he could have been all of two years old by this time.

Draw your own conclusions who was really behind the star

There is a lot less doubt in my mind about who would be behind ANY effort to create DOUBT about God providing a heavenly sign to proclaim Jesus' birth and existence among us! THAT would seem to serve a very different spiritual purpose.

God's standards, however, remain the same. As is evident on his feelings of 'mixing Christ with Belial' or 'light with darkness', right?

Absolutely true.
Oh and Verna, you are the first person I've ever heard proclaim they actually believe Jesus was born on December 25. First time for everything!

My God is all powerful and capable of all. I don't have to understand the whys.

Because in this instance it does'nt jive with the facts or the truth. No ones trying to disrupt anyone's good time or fun. But the truth at some point is going to have to mean something.
Beware of the Angel of Light.
BibleGateway.com - Passage Lookup: 2 Corinthians 11:14-15;
A sincere study of God's word the Bible would help the reader conclude that God Almighty would never make it easy for wicked men to destroy his son. Certainly God never directed these men using a demonic religious source such as Astrology, something he has condemned and warned to his own covenant people Israel against over and over again and again.
Just meditate on that

What is secular and historical truth has NOTHING to do with what is symbolic and spiritual truth . . . secular history is of the world . . . spirituality is not.

I'm not talking about the Mosaic law...I'm talking about principles. And the 'dark and light' comment shows that God still felt the same in the NT about exclusive devotion that he did in the Old.

Perhaps you'll find this video interesting. It takes some bit of time , but very fascinating. I have no idea who the organization of researchers is , but make sure you have the time to view it. Almost like a History Channel episode.
