We have the mark of the one whom we choose to obey.

Those people who choose to obey sin have the mark of the beast. That mark shows that they belong to satan.

People (who are genuine partakers of the New Covenant that was ratified by Christ's blood) walk in the newness of resurrection life; they obey God.

"Neither yield ye your members as **instruments of unrighteousness unto sin:** but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and **your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.** ...

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?"
Rom 6:13-16 (KJV)

We must decide whom we will serve. Either we have the brand of The Creator of the heavens and the earth --Or, we have the brand of the beast. We decide who owns us --and that is a matter of life and death.

I see it as a process of being changed from one creation (the old man) to another (the new). Having remnants of the flesh still in our members, we "press on toward the mark, the high calling of Jesus Christ" and put to death the lusts and inclinations of the old man, by subjecting ourselves to the cross.

We can see signs of the old still warring in our members, but we're not to be discouraged; the hill to Golgotha was full of reminders that He was man, but fixing His eyes on the goal, He won the victory. The enemy will tell us that we're still the same, nothing's changed, and that we should give up - but this too is part of the process God has for us. Casting down imaginations, we take on the mindset of Him who has gone before us.

Everytime I try to make a point, I end up preaching...what's wrong with me?

Not what's wrong with you, but rather, what's right with you. It is as much as part of you as breathing. When you love the Lord with all you're heart and soul, you jump at any given moment to spread the "good news". It shows. Endure.
