Jesus already did and He stated it.

This is a very comforting scripture, but what many fail to realize, we can separate ourselves from the love of God!!! Nothing else can...but I can cause my own separation if I turn back from God! We must remember the scriptures that say we are to be faithful 'til death. Scripture does not cancel out scripture.

No you can't. You see if we don't have the power to save ourselves then we sure as likely don't have the power to separate ourselves either; and we should be faithful till death, it's very hard these days in my faithfulness but I am no where near to loosing my salvation.

If we cannot, why are there so many scriptures, to Christians, saying than they can??? And don't tell we they never were Christians to begin with. I don't buy that theory.

Yes, I pried my near lifeless brain from the clutches of the Christian myth so yes, I'm proof you can lose your senses and get 'em back. LOL

I'll take sense over salvation any day.

People where ever they live can find God. Today in the Middle East people who are truly seeking God are finding Him. Jesus is appearing to a number of Islamic people in their dreams. And He is telling them to follow Him. Most of the world has not taken the time to actually search for God, yet those who do are discovering Him. And yes, it does appear that God does not want anyone to perish. Your belief that God is sending people to Hell based on where they live is a belief that is based on error.

This entire issue comes down to the failure on the part of so many Christians to understand who they are in Christ and what mighty works have been wrought in them to make them a child of God.

Here is the fundamental question: Can a believer, once born again, become UNborn again? No!

We have been redeemed by Christ--can we now become unredeemed? And if so, when has He ever indicated that we were for sale? And who could pay the purchase price for surely it would have to be greater than what He paid!

We have been made constitutionally and foundationally a "new creation"--something we were not before. Something so marvelous and intricate and metamorphical that to undo it would require miracles as awesome and transformational as those wrought in us by God to make us His own in the first place! Can we return to our mother's wombs? Can a butterfly return to its cocoon and become a caterpillar? Neither can the child of God and the new creation return to what he once was.

Do we know who we are? We have not simply been forgiven of our sins--we have been made something magnificent that we weren't before. Such a miracle cannot be undone. We cannot be UNborn again!

I don't care who finds the most verses in the Bible to support his position. They are all noncontradictory in light of the nature of salvation.

We are regenerated--made alive from the dead. We cannot die again spiritually.

We have been legally adopted into God's family and made joint heirs with Christ. Are we able to rescind such a legally binding transaction and nullify out adoption "papers?" When has God promised to disinherit us?

We have been judicially declared pardoned. We cannot be charged with crimes already atoned for lest God be guilty of double jeopardy.

We are members of Christ's body. When has He promised to have us removed?

It is this totally new creation which God has wrought within us that seeks to please Him and forsake all sinfulness. When we fail because of the working of the old man who still resides within us, we have an advocate with the Father--the Lord Jesus Christ. The true, eternal, secure child of God repents and feels sorrow in the new man. Confession is made God is faithful and just to forgive us of all unrighteousness and restore fellowship.

Again, the true child of God, born again from above, cannot undo God's mighty works accomplished within Him--nor does He want to! Nothing, nothing, nothing can separate us from Him!

Remember who you are!

In Christ, Preterist

Well Marian, for the simple reason you can not find the statement as scripture because I made a statement of what the Holy Spirit does, taken from the scripture. It is a statement!!!

Now Marian I respect you very much, BUT....I will not get caught up in all this mess going on in this thread, arguing!!!!

It is God's Spirit "The Holy Spirit" that draws, speaks, teaches, guides, leads the hearts of God's people.
He also is the One whom draws the hearts of men to Jesus....How else would one be open to the calling of God in their lives. It is the power of His Holy Spirit that does it....
Jesus described Him as the Helper; John16:17
He will help us to understand the truth about Christ; John 16:14
He will apply the work of Christ to our hearts.
He encourages us; Acts 4:31
He guides us; John 16:13
He illuminates the Scripture for us; John 16:14-15
He gives us power; Acts 1:8
He intensifies the love of God in us: Romans 5:5
He helps us in prayer; Romans 8:26
He enables us to reflect God's holy character; Romans 8:13-14; Gal.5:22-23.
He strengthens our potential for Christian growth, Ephesians 3:16.

He stirred the early prophets into ecstatic states in which they prophesied (1Samuel 10:6-10; 19:20).
The writing of prophets Ezekiel (Ezek.11:5) and Micah (Micah 3:8) knew that their message from God was mediated through the Spirit. The prophets also prophesied of the Spirit's work in cleansing and empowering God's people (Isaiah 32:15-17; Ezek.36:25-26; Joel 2:28-29).

There you go.... that is why I made the statement it is the Holy Spirit who reaches and draws all people for the Father.... He is God's Spirit.

Known in the OT as the Spirit of God and in the NT the Holy Spirit of God!!

Blessings to you..... and have a beautiful evening!!!!
