It is Satan's plan to stop the Church of Jesus Christ from moving out in power and victory. In order to recognize Satan and his work, we need to know his tactics and strategies so that we can take our position of full power and authority over him. Before we can launch a victorious offensive attack against Satan, we must know our enemy, his characteristics, and his strategies.

Satan's Strategies:

Temptation
Deception
Unbelief
Worry
Disobedience
Rebellion
Hardening our hearts
Using circumstances to defeat you
Sowing lies
Fear
To gain access to our minds
Apathy-lack of emotion or feeling
To accuse and slander
To war against God's people

Temptation:
IThess.3:5 For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labor be in vain.
Throughout the Word, we see Satan as the tempter: He tempted Eve in the garden of Eden with the forbidden fruit and the thought of becoming like God (Gen. 3:4-6)...he tempted Esau into giving up his birthright for a bowl of lentils (Gen. 25:29-33)...he tempted King David through Bathsheba (2 Sam. 11:1-4)...he tempted Jesus by offering Him the kingdoms of the world (Matt. 4:8).

At every possible opportunity, Satan and his evil forces will place temptations before you in an attempt to cause you to sin against God. Satan tempts us in basically three areas: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye, and the pride of life. He will use every possible means of temptation; however, Satan is limited. He cannot make us sin. He can trick, deceive, lie, or tempt you, but Satan cannot go beyond that point. He can place the temptation before us, but he has no power over our will.

Satan is the tempter, but we have the ability to yield or refuse to yield to the temptation. "Let no one say when he is tempted, I am tempted from God; for God is incapable of being tempted by (what is) evil and He himself tempts no one. But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions). Then the evil desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully matured brings forth death" (James 1:13-15).

Satan has the ability to so disguise the temptations that he brings before Christians that many are deceived, fall into his snare and yield to temptation. But God provided a way for Christians to walk in victory over every temptation of Satan. To be victorious over him, you must recognize him as the TEMPTER.

Genesis 3:1-6 Now the serpent was more subtile than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

SATAN ATTACKS BY BOMBARDING OUR MINDS WITH HIS THOUGHTS

It was in the battlefield of the mind that Satan gained access to Adam and Eve and defeated them. As we look at this familiar account of man's defeat, you will see specific strategies Satan is using today to keep people living in defeat.

Notice that Satan attacked Eve's mind. Speaking through the serpent Satan hurled "fiery darts"...thoughts of doubt...into Eve's mind. He knew that God had commanded Adam not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but he tried to plant doubt in Eves mind. He wanted her to question God's Word. Satan's strategy today is exactly the same.

When Christians receive God's Word into their hearts and minds concernig healing for their bodies, Satan will bombard their minds with fiery darts of doubt and unbelief. He will try to cause them to question God's Word, causing the Word of God to be ineffective in their lives.

The first mistake Eve made, which eventually led to her sin, was listening to Satan. He lied to Eve. He contradicted God's Word. He told her that she would NOT die if she ate the forbidden fruit. Eve not only listened to Satan, she carried on a conversation with him. Eve knew what God had commanded them conncerning the forbidden fruit. She knew God had told them that if they ate of the fruit, they would die. Yet, instead of rejecting Satan's lies, she LISTENED.

There are many thousands of Christians today, living in defeat because they are listening to Satan's lies. Instead of recognizing Satan as a liar and casting his lies out of their minds, they listen. They reason with him. Likewise, they entertain his thoughts in their minds and they fall into his trap. To live in victory over Satan, you must discern Satan's voice when he speaks, and reject it. If you listen, as Eve did, you will give him access to your mind and open yourself up for defeat.

To discern Satan's voice, you must know the Word of God. You must know Christ's voice, and you must know the enemy and how he attacks...

The day has come when God's people must walk in such a close, intimate relationship with Christ that they KNOW His voice, or they will be deceived by false teachers and prophets and be led astray (John 10:3-5).

You must consider every desire, every inagination, every thought that enters your mind, that is contary to God's Word, as the "voice of a stranger"...an INTRUDER. When thoughts enter your mind that cause you to doubt God's Word or His covenant promises to you, you must recognize them as being from Satan. Refuse to listen to his lies. Reject them the moment they enter your mind.

When thoughts enter your mind that continualy lead you away from doing God's will, or hinder you from obeying God as He speaks to you, or tempt you to sin, you must recognize them as being from Satan the Tempter and immediately cast them out.

SATAN GAINS ACCESS INTO OUR MINDS THROUGH THE "EYEGATE" AND THE "EARGATE"

2 Samuel 11:2 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon.

Satan's major strategy in luring and seducing us into temptation is to gain access into our minds through the "eyegate" and the "eargate"...through what we see and hear.

King David was one of the most powerful men of God in the Bible "a man after mine own heart..." (Acts 13:22)...a man who had won many great battles. Yet he fell into Satan's trap through temptation and brought destruction upon his household.

Satan's strategy is to catch us off guard and unprepared for his attack. He will often tempt us AFTER we have experienced a great spiritual victory. This was the case with David. He was tempted at a time of prosperity in the kingdom. He was about fifty-years-old at the time, and had been reigning in Jerusalem as king for twelve years. He had subdued his enemies and had returned in great triumph.

At the time appointed for him to go out into battle, David "tarried" in Jerusalem. Instead of going with his army into battle, he sent Joab, his servants and all of Israel out into battle, while he remained in Jerusalem. David fought and won many great battles, and he decided it was time to let down his guard and relax.

In our spiritual warfare against Satan, there is no time for us to relax or let down our guard!

The moment we begin to relax...to let down our prayer time, stop reading the Word, stop watching for Satan's strategies...Satan will seize the opportunity to attack us. This is exactly what happened to David.

He faced Satan, the Tempter, when he went up to his rooftop and "he SAW a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon." Satan gained entrance into David's mind through the "eyegate"...what he SAW with his eyes.

Satan placed a temptation in front of David that aroused a desire within him. As David continued to LOOK upon the woman, he desired to have her for himself. Satan deceived and enticed David by making him think that the pleasure and satisfaction he would receive from this illicit affair would be greater than it actually was. And it was there on the rooftop where David actually committed the sin of adultry IN HIS MIND AND HEART. This sin was later manifested in his actions when he sent for Bath-sheba (2 Samuel 11:3-4).

Today, there are Christians falling into temptation, living defeated ives, in bondage to the desires and lusts of their flesh because they have GIVEN Satan access into their minds through the "eyegate" and "eargate."

Satan's strategy is to fill the minds of Christians so full of temptation that the desires of their carnal flesh will be aroused until it is manifested in their actions...until they yeild their will to the lusts of the flesh and sin aginst God.

Remember, Satan is limited in the temptations he places before you. God will not allow him to tempt you above what you are able to bear (1 Cor.10:13)...... Not only does God limit the temptations Satan places before you, but with every temptation He has promised a way out that you will be strong, powerful and patiently able to bear up under it......God's purpose for allowing Satan to tempt and test you is that you will be PERFECTLY AND FULLY DEVELOPED...lacking in nothing! (James 1:2-4).

Your attitude as you are being tested, tempted and tried by Satan should not be one of failure or defeat......but one of victory... KNOWING that God has provided a way of escape...given you the powerful weapons of warfare...annointed you with the power of the Holy Spirit......and given you power over all the power of the enemy, you must move into ACTION...you must RESIST the enemy.

I personally thank my God in heaven for His unfailing love, grace, and mercy...He is so good and and so faithful...He is teaching me so perfectly through my own temptations and trials...and through the love and strength of my precious brothers and sisters in Christ which strengthens me...God Bless you for your earnest and faithful walk with God...Love

Living in Darkness

I Corinthians 15: 56The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

Proverbs 2: 11 – 15 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:

Job 24: 1 – 25 Why, seeing times are not hidden from the Almighty, do they that know him not see his days?
Some remove the landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and feed thereof.
They drive away the ass of the fatherless; they take the widow’s ox for a pledge.
They turn the needy out of the way: the poor of the earth hide themselves together.
Behold, as wild asses in the desert, go they forth to their work; rising betimes for a prey: the wilderness yieldeth food for them and for their children.
They reap every one his corn in the field: and they gather the vintage of the wicked.
They cause the naked to lodge without clothing, that they have no covering in the cold.
They are wet with the showers of the mountains, and embrace the rock for want of a shelter.
They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor.
They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry;
Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst.
Men groan from out of the city, and the soul of the wounded crieth out: yet God layeth not folly to them.
They are of those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.
The murderer rising with the light killeth the poor and needy, and in the night is as a thief.
The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth his face.
In the dark they dig through houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime: they know not the light.
For the morning is to them even as the shadow of death: if one know them, they are in the terrors of the shadow of death.
He is swift as the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth: he beholdeth not the way of the vineyards.
Drought and heat consume the snow waters: so doth the grave those which have sinned.
The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be no more remembered; and wickedness shall be broken as a tree.
He evil entreateth the barren that beareth not: and doeth not good to the widow.
He draweth also the mighty with his power: he riseth up, and no man is sure of life.
Though it be given him to be in safety, whereon he resteth; yet his eyes are upon their ways.
They are exalted for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the tops of the ears of corn.
And if it be not so now, who will make me a liar, and make my speech nothing worth?

Romans 13: 11 – 14 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

Isaiah 5: 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Ephesians 4: 17 – 18 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:

II Corinthians 3: 13 – 15 And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the Old Testament; which veil is done away in Christ.
But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their hearts.

James 4: 4 – 6 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
But he giveth more grace.
Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

I Corinthians 15: 20 – 28 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
For he hath put all things under his feet.
But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him that God may be all in all.

Job 14: 22 -20 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.
For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.
The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.
Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.

Isaiah 48: 1 – 11 Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name.
I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.
Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;
I have even from the beginning declared it to thee; before it came to pass I showed it thee: lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.
Thou hast heard, see all this; and will not ye declare it? I have showed thee new things from this time, even hidden things, and thou didst not know them.
They are created now, and not from the beginning; even before the day when thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them. Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from that time that thine ear was not opened: for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
For my name’s sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.

Ephesians 2: 1 – 10 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

I Kings 8: 46 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

Ecclesiaster 7: 20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Isaiah 64: 1 – 12 Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,
As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Thou meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, those that remember thee in thy ways: Behold thou art wroth; for we have sinned: in those is continuance, and we shall be saved.
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
And there is none that calleth upon thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee: for thou hast hid thy face from us, and hast consumed us, because of our iniquities.
But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.
Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people.
Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.
Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
12Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?
I Samuel 2: 24, 25, 30, 31, 32, 33, and 36.Nay, my sons; for it is no good report that I hear: ye make the LORD’S people to transgress.
If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him: but if a man sin against the LORD, who shall entreat for him? Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto the voice of their father, because the LORD would slay them.
Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
Behold, the days come, that I will cut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father’s house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.
And thou shalt see an enemy in my habitation, in all the wealth which God shall give Israel: and there shall not be an old man in thine house for ever.
And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.
And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left in thine house shall come and crouch to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priests’ offices, that I may eat a piece of bread.

Psalm 32: 1- 2 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Romans 4: 6 – 7 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

Isaiah 59: 1- 2 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, which it cannot hear:
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Hebrews 10: 4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

James 1: 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Deuteronomy 23: 15 – 25 Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto thee:
He shall dwell with thee, even among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him.
There shall be no ***** of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
Thou shalt not bring the hire of a *****, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these is abomination unto the LORD thy God.
Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury:
Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.
When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.
But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.
That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.
When thou comest into thy neighbour’s vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put any in thy vessel.
When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour’s standing corn.

Isaiah 59: 1- 2, 9 -15.Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
Jeremiah 23: 9 – 24, 28,29,5,6,28,29.1,2,3,4,7,8: Mine heart within me is broken because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man, and like a man whom wine hath overcome, because of the LORD, and because of the words of his holiness.
For the land is full of adulterers; for because of swearing the land mourneth; the pleasant places of the wilderness are dried up, and their course is evil, and their force is not right.
For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD.
Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
And I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.
I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.
They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.
For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
Behold, a whirlwind of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.
The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.
Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off?
Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD.
Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD. Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called,
The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully.
What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD.
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called,
Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.
And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

Greetings, Verna Perry and Happy New Year!

Did not God promise in Genesis 3:15 that the seed of the woman would crush Satan's head? Has not Christ already done that?

Furthermore, didn't Paul tell those believers at Rome that "the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly" (Rom. 16:20)?

The evil intents of man's "heart" and his innately wicked desires and lusts produce all the temptations necessary in this world. Satan was long ago cast into the lake of fire when Christ returned in judgment in A. D. 70.
Temptations come from this wicked world of men and from within our own hearts; we are responsible to avoid and resist them in the strength of the holy spirit.

Thanks Verna Perry for your question. Here is my answer.

Scripture: Romans 16:20--Paul wrote to the "brethren" at Rome:

"the God peace will crush Satan under YOUR feet SHORTLY." Satan was crushed and made ineffective in that first-century time period!

Revelation 20:10--"the devil who deceived them, WAS cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night and forever."

Here is the clear timing for all of these things given to John by the angel of the Lord--

And the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must shortly take place. "Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book." Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things. Then he said to me, "See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God." And he said to me, "Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.

Jesus foretells the perversion that will take place in the modern church with the parable of the mustard seed. The giant tree that it grows into is a perversion, for mustard seeds produce plants. ..."and the branches will hold the birds of the air."the birds and branches referring to the byproducts"false dotrines, false teachers" of a satan led deception of people with this
"easy believism" and "name it and claim it, prosperity gospel."

Obviously...you and I do not agree conscerning the "timing"...and that is o.k...I will not debate with you...I will continue to believe what I know to be the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Thank you...Love

Greetings, Verna Perry: I am sorry that you do not want to debate. I really wish, however, that you had at least dealt with the verses I provided. Why do we disagree over simple time statements, Verna Perry?

I do not understand how you can be content with your idea of timing when that understanding does not deal directly with clear words such as "shortly" and "near" and "at hand!" Was John or was he not shown the things which were in his day to "shortly" take place because the time was then "near?" Why are such statements there, Verna Perry, in both the first and last chapter of the Revelation? Why did Jesus say "Behold, I am coming quickly (soon)?

My understanding of timing comes directly from the very words of the Bible. I know you do not wish to debate, but are you willing to at least explain these statements in a biblical way based upon how these time words are always used elsewhere in the Scriptures?

Anyway, thanks for the previous discussions. I enjoyed them.

Satan was long ago cast into the lake of fire when Christ returned in A.D. 70? Temptations come from this wicked world of men and from within our own hearts?

So what was Christ's coming for? If not to do away with sin? And why are some of his false teachers still here if their "leader" was already "crushed"?

This coming that we place our hope in, is then what, The Third Coming of Jesus Christ? And we are responsible to avoid and resist them in the strength of the Holy Spirit? But He came already you say. If there's no Jesus, then there's no Holy Spirit. And what? He left us on our own? No Redeemer? To save ourselves?

You might as well pack it up all nice and neat and further proclaim: There's no God, cause you're just about there. Such blasphemy! I rebuke you Satan in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ!

He IS the Blessed Hope and He IS coming again..............................FINAL ANSWER!!
