I don't think it does.

ETA: At least, not what you are implying.

I think we should not dwell continually on our guilt - once we have confessed and asked forgiveness - we SHOULD go on.
However the Bible doesn't teach that we should not be contrite nor that we shouldn't confess and ask forgiveness.

Romans 8:1 says:
Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
But I think to be in Christ, we need to be in His will - at least in heart.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1John 1:9

Perhaps you were referring to the Catholic "act of Contrition". (10 "Our Father"s - for those who may not know)
In which case, I'd agree whole heartedly - with the exception of righting a wrong done to someone else and seeking their forgiveness too.

The Word teaches us what to believe . . . and the Word is Jesus. But some of us think they know what we are taught better than anyone else despite their otherwise lack of ANY creditable basis for so believing. Are you one of those, sandgirl? One of the "blind drivers in the fog" giving directions to everyone else? Do you personally know our loving Jesus or spend any quality time with him . . . or are you content to spout what you have been told about him by others (or what you think you read in the scriptures). What do you see as my deception?

Oh no, Blue.....I was just making a joke. In my part of the country everybody is "hon" and "sweetie". Terms of endearment. I was trying to lighten the mood, but I guess I failed.

Moderator cut:

There appears to be far more communing in hijacking this thread than there was as regards the nature of the OP: Communing with nature.

June deleted two pages of posts.

The next time, to those who "communed" in ways other than the OP and nature: Infractions.

And with that, this thread is closed.
