That is not a weakness, but one of the fruits we bear as Christians, furthermore it is scriptural. I will worry for any Christian who does not try and seek Christian fellowship or hunger for His word.

"Jesus blows His breath" What verse is that?

UNBELIEVABLE. Are we to only speak/type Scripture by rote when we open our mouths/type with our fingers?

I have no idea what that means but it is not a weakness furthermore when it deals with Christianity you should have scriptural support, if not then sorry it is not of God.

Thanks GloryB, I couldn't agree more. The closest I have ever been to God has been the times I have spent alone with Him. I know you are not discounting fellowship, and neither am I. Both are necessary, imo.

Given the choice between church with no private prayer time or private prayer time with no church, I will take the latter any day (including Sunday) of the week.

Also, I do not consider the time in the sanctuary that much of a time of worship or fellowship. Either mixed bible classes or teaching the youth is far more important than sitting and standing on command, followed by a prepared speech by someone whose vested interest is filling the coffers of the bank account.

Question: If you are not praying and reading your bible while you are alone with Him, then how can you grow?

Who said she didn't pray? Having read the Bible several times, she has learned the lessons......but the laws are inconsequential, so once you have learned the lessons being taught, all that is needed is prayer.

Psalm 46:10 10 Be still, and know that I am God..

I believe that each one's relationship with God is personal and unique. If someone draws close to God when he or she is silent, reflecting on His presence, why should we question this?

Beautiful imagery. God bless.

God bless.
I only question what is not in scripture, when you call one thing weak that is repeated in scripture again and again then turn around and talk about something that is not scripturally supported then I must question. Sorry.

You grow by listening. What if you could not read? Would you not listen to someone else reading the Bible? God is not only the author, He is the Creator. His creation speaks, and He speaks through it. Did you read what I wrote? The times that I have really HEARD from God are the times that I shut down my own thoughts (very hard for me to do, btw) and was completely still and silent.

Psalm 46:10
"Be still, and know that I am God;"

If you had ever sat silently listening and watching nature, you wouldn't need to ask this question. I am always amazed when someone asks how can you get closer to God without scripture or how can a song be from God if it doesn't include scripture. I'm gonna need 'scripture' to back up those ideas.
