Nobody knows angst quite like the only child. Th' kid who grew up
going insane over religion. No one was there to comfort him
spiritually, but there simply to terrorize him mercilessly with
religious doctrine that really NO ONE CAN HANDLE ALONE. Yes, I grew
up Baptist, and my parents (God bless em) are CHRISTIAN TERRORISTS
to this day. Nothing I like is "right". I am treated SPIRITUALLY as
if I am the scum of the earth.
But I feel now is time to trash all this skiddishness and
spiritual anxiety that has been passed down from generation to
generation. I feel it is also time that I ask myself REAL QUESTIONS.
I'm done with "beating around the bush". One can waste his entire
life doing that. No, now's the time to learn what we're really
afraid of...AND GET OVER IT!!!

I'm eager to learn stuff, even if I
can't mentally handle it... I'M A BAPTIST, REMEMBER?

Do you care to delve in a little deeper?...what happened that brought you to where you are...to begin asking "real questions", and to be done with "beating around the bush?"

Believe me when I say that religious doctrine causes a great deal of angst to a great many people. Instead of focusing on all of that....why don't you just go to Jesus and tell Him what is going on in your heart. He knows already, but it give you the opportunity to get it all off of your chest. Then start fresh with Him. He'll lead you to the right church or fellowship for you and get you going down the path He has for you. And on this path....there is no fear or angst.

Good luck to you my friend. Please post again.

Just what GloryB said. I feel for you, religiousthinker.

The truth is the truth. If it hurts than that is the Holy Spirit convicting you, "Parents are Christian terrorist"? That does not sound like you are honoring your parents

Who are you to downplay someone's pain? Whether it be spiritual, physical, or mental? I sort of understand where this person is coming from, but have a feeling that the moderate cut out something important.

Sounds like teenage angst to me. May I ask how old you are, Religiousthinker? I don't post much, but your first post drew me in. There are many fantastic, God-fearing, well rounded and seasoned Christians on this board who can help you, if that's what you want. If you came here for help, it's available. If you came here to offend and phish, then you won't be here long.

Some phishermen seem to use any net for as yet undetectable "reasons". Few, precious few, are already ahead of that and maybe found worthy to work accordingly.\!!

Hi Effie,

Would you mind explaining what you said? I'm a little confused by it.
