Who has heard the audible voice of God or an Angel??? (Jehovah's Witnesses, agnostic)

It was like someone was next to me while I was sleeping, talking into my ears. But when I woke up know one was there.

God speaks in many different ways, an aubible voice, The Holy Spirit, dreams, visions, His Word, circumstances, and other ways. So, I am not saying that hearing an aubible voice is better than any other way that God speaks, I am interested in hearing about other people's experience who have had this type of encounter.

Also don't take this thread as a way of trying to learn how to hear God aubibly, because this can't be taught. God chooses how He wants to speak to us individually.

So, if you have not heard God speak to you aubibly, or have not received a message from God by an Angel, that does not mean that God is not speaking to you.

So, please don't take this thread as a means of over looking the other ways that God speaks, I only wanted to hear of others who had this type of experience.

1 Samuel 3:10 is my favorite verse in Scripture and this scripture always jumped out at me and I never really understood why.

But I actually had the opportunity to hear my named called as Samuels name was called. But you can read about that experience further down in the post.

Joh 1:18 No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, that One declares Him.

Joh 5:37 And the Father, the One sending Me, has Himself borne witness concerning Me. You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor have you seen His form.

Translation: That means whatever WE have, THEY have. Theirs may be spirit bodies vs. our flesh bodies, but that doesn't mean THEY don't have eyes, ears, voices, etc.

The argument that God "doesn't need a voice to carry out His will, therefore it means He doesn't have one" is not valid. Having a "need" for something is not necessarily required in order to own something.

As an example: I do not need a car to live. I could get by without one. Instead I could walk, ride a bike, or take the bus. Does that therefore mean I don't have a car, since I don't really need one? You'd be wrong if you answered "yes" because I've owned lots of cars over the years, and I have one right now. I didn't "need" one to live, but I wanted one, so I went out and bought one.
God may not "need" a voice, but He's got one anyway. I think He just likes it that way. Same deal with angels: they may not "need"a voice, but they have one anyway. The Bible says they use theirs to sing praises to God.

If you read the Bible, you would learn that both God and angels have voices, and they used their voices often from one end of the Bible to the other. For those who will hear He is still using His voice today. God has a voice for the same reason we do: to communicate. Yes, I know that He communicates in myriad other ways, but His (audible) voice still remains as one of them, however rare it may be for us to hear these days.

Okay - I do admit..that it may not be auditory..but it is still a voice...here is a personal story.

I lived in this huge rambling farm house - a beautiful place - about 5 in the morning I decided to clean out the basement...I was down in that dungeon breathing in 120 years of poisonous dust...finally I emerged as the sun was coming up - the sky was blood red...I looked to the east and said to myself - actually I was talking to God..feeling very sick and on the edge I said "I am not afraid of death" - THEN...there was this communication - it was audible - yet it was not sound as we understand it..the voice said "So you are not afraid of dying hugh..well I have something in store that is a judgement of sorts - that is much more terrifying than mere mortal death" -


So I do admit - I in my human arrogance did get a little message..from above - and it was awesome - It frightened the hell out of me...God does not bother from what I understood - with trival converstations about wanting or not wanting a car - but when it comes to eternity..salvation...and life - along with eternal life - He does have a voice...but I am not going to admit that to anyone...cos - most would call me crazy.

God is very polite - he does not speak until spoken too..If you cut yourself off from the power..you will hear nothing - perhaps it is that inner voice we all talk about...some say that it might just be your self talking to your self...but I don't truely think so..the voice of goodness is the voice of God - I am sure that if neccesary a voice that could crack mountains could be heard from above - but - that's extreme...it would have to be an international human emergency for that to happen - and as far as I can see unless we start to use our God given intelligence - the great Father might just start yelling...and that will truely be awesome..better not to chance such an intervension and continue to try and do our best.

That is true but He does inspire Angels, Prophets, the Son, us and the still small voice of the spirit to speak for Him. He even uses your voice on occasion. LOL

Lets go back to the person that said - they may not need a car...(voice) but they can have a car (voice) - I retract my submissive retort to this writer - God does not have or need a voice - he could have one but I believe he preferes to walk.

Hearing the voice of God is not to edify and encourage the saint? God speaks to YOU but it is only about Himself, nothing about you? That makes no sense to me at all. This is nothing like the God I have encountered.

I have had the same amazing and stunning experience of hearing the small still audible voice of God. I was at a college football game with my Dad in my 30's just finishing my 1st BA degree and wondering why it took me so long to achieve that goal. Suddenly, I heard "AS GOOD" I looked at my Dad he was watching the football game, and then I looked up in the sky, still wondering if the sound was out of my head or in my head. I had such a peace come over me in that moment. I will never forget it.
