I am not.....I am using it in the context when you threw that verse at me. They were proclaiming the truth as well getting in many debates and arguments. Do you not think they were stumbling blocks for each other as well using your logic?

oh this subject caught my eye.......

IMHO gluttony is the sin...alcohol, food, drugs, sex, etc. etc. can all be abused/overused.

I never could figure out those preachers banging on the pulpits about the evils of alcohol, yet their overweight selves would knock down old ladies and little children to be first in line at Wed. night suppers or the 'all you could eat buffets' frequented by many a churchgoer on Sun after church....

'splain that one to me

and oh the horrors!! some of the best group bible studying I was around, we had a couple of wine coolers or beers, kicked back and relaxed and really learned some stuff

I never said it causes people to sin. However, I believe it CAN be a hindrance if done carelessly. Paul, Peter, John, etc were church fathers and apostles. They could speak with much more authority than some anonymous messageboard poster.

Well then by all means, Show me how anything I have said anywhere differs from Paul? because the Paul I know, I could hardly come close to his judging

"For you", it may be wrong.

What did Jesus do or say about wine? Isn't this what we should follow, His word?

Where did Paul say anything about the consumption of alcohol being a sin? You're speaking about it and calling it "truth," but Paul did no such thing.

Your quote above is the same point I made, to which you responded "but the topic is alcohol." You're talking in circles. Your condescending, know-it-all, holier-than-thou attitude does nothing but hinder other evangelical Christians. You're more damaging to the faith than an atheist could ever be. Ironically, a roomful of Baptists swigging bourbon on national TV would be less of a stumbling block.
This needed to be restated

I never said, Paul said drinking alcohol is a sin in of itself and neither did I. I said, alcohol being or not being a sin is not as easy as a "yes" or "no"

Paul had no problem with drinking in fact he told one of the disciples to stop drinking only water and drink wine because the water was unsanitary.

I said, Paul and the disciples were always bickering, debating, and even had some huge arguments over the direction.
