That is the end result of protestantism. As the people get more liberal, so will they interpretations of the bible.

Run for you salvation!.........

I am kidding. I was once part of the liberal sector. I use to preach the social gospel with just as much intensity as I am accused of doing as a fundamentalist but I was not a Christian, I believe the whole bible to be the word of God but it is to be used more of a spiritual guide and not to be taken literally, I thought those fundamentalist were crazy and misguided

I did not want to believe that a loving God could send people to hell so I based God on my opinions and rationality. The problem was I could not explain away a few things in the bible. Liberal Christians use reason, relevance, intellect, compromise more than scripture because all of the word of God taken literally scares the "hell" out of them.

Yes..But we are fighting it. Like the liberal catholic in name only politicians in that support things like gay marriage and abortion. Bishops are starting to deny them the body and blood of christ..and there now is even talk of excommunication. These people aren't catholic..the just think they are. Quite like the Republican in Name Only Republicans in Washington.

So little correction..Liberalism is TRYING to seep into Catholicism.

It's not a denomination thing so much as it's a cultural thing in our society and world as a whole.

Expect these things to come to pass more and more.

Thats the great thing about having a pope...We can stop it. Protestantism can not.

^Having a Pope does have his drawbacks. It's impossible to recant a boneheaded position like declaring condom use sinful because of the whole infallibility thing.

If you think for one minute all Catholics follow the popes edict - well I don't know what to say.

"Protestantism" can do whatever it's individual church so desires so it can certainly "stop" anything. Frankly I prefer it that way.

Why do you seem so bent on making Catholics "the best"? Just curious.
