Quote:
Matthew 16:23-25
Jesus turned and said to Peter, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men."
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.
Jesus says right here what Satan is all about (Satan is working through Peter) and Jesus also says what we must do. Please take the time to read these scriptures. It's very profound, especially the last sentence. Okay, leaving you alone now.

"DAYOFTHELORD" -
- something to think about -
I think your choice of verses is quite disturbing since you are accusing the first disciple of the Messiah, Peter, as "Satan is working through Peter" ....and indirectly.... accusing our friends of the Catholic branch of Christianity.
Another verse comes to my mind, and it is where Jesus appears to Simon Peter just before his resurection:
"
'Simon, Son of John, do you love me more than these?' " He [Peter] said to him: 'Yes Lord, you know that I love you.'
Jesus said, "Take care of my lambs.' Again Jesus said,
'Simon son of John do you love me?' He answered, 'Yes Lord, you know that I love you.'
Jesus said, 'Take care of my sheep.'
A THIRD TIME he said,
'Simon son of John do you love me?' Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him a THIRD time: Peter said, you know everything; you know that I love you!' He said to him, 'Feed my sheep. I tell you the truth.......{in your later years, someone else will guide you where you do not wish to go, but I have prayed for you} ... 'Follow me' "
John 21:15-21
I am emphasing the
THREE times Jesus asked him which the number "3" has potent qualities. It is possible that Jesus persistantly asks Peter this since he had verbally (and in front of witnesses) denied he ever knew Jesus. By asking him 3 times, Peter adamantly re-affirmed his faith.
