.....Their pastor no longer teaches the Bible. Instead the Sunday morning service is a skit or a series of stories. The Bible seems to have become the forbidden book. While there are pastors who do still teach the Bible, they are becoming the exception rather than the rule.
....Emergent leaders are often quoted as saying that methods of presenting the message must change if we are going to be relevant to our generation.
However, what happens if the message promoted in the name of Christ is no longer based on a chapter and verse. Sound doctrine seems to be taking a back seat to a teaching that no longer offends those who are listening...
...That Paul wrote the book of acts.
...That Paul went to the disciples to learn the gospel. (Gal 1:11-2:6)
...That only Jesus knows the time of His return. (Mat 24:36,37)
"preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,
and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
But you, be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry."
2Timothy 4:2-5
From what was probably Paul's last letter to anyone.
No worries. Can you survive without food and water?
So, if you were living in a time or place where no bibles were available (as many have throughout history) then God could not provide spiritual life without it?

I think God can do what is necessary to help us in our walks. If in your scenario, then yes, God's will would still be done for that person if that person sought God's will. But why would you waste the most valuable resource we have to grow closer to God?

The bible is only as valuable as the person's understanding who is reading it.
In some cases the written word can be a lazy legal substitute for actually knowing God.
christ was not relevant at all to his generation, not in the least, they killed him. dead at 33.
he died young. his followers too.
how old is the average preacher these days.

Perhaps the fact that we are so inundated with Bibles in our society is the reason we don't treasure it like we should. Heard stories of Christians in China during the most oppresive years of Communism that gave their lives for their bibles and many from the west that risked their lives to smuggle bibles in.
The fact that God has preserved his word thru the centuries so that we have the scripture we have today is evidence enough that God deems it essential.
A world you describe has not happened since the church was birthed. There have been times when believers have had to go without, times when the organized religion of the day held the scriptures from the hands and eyes of the masses. We know this period of time as the dark ages. The end of the dark ages corelates to the invention of the printing press and the production of bibles available to the populace outside of the church heirarchy.
Perhaps there will come a time when what you say will come to pass. That is all the more reason to memorize scripture and commit it to memory.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
