Yes I know that just wanted to hear you say it. It's always good to see it

Try these simple formulas

Lies + Love = ?
Truth + wounds = ?

Truth is what Jesus came for... it's a simple as that. I do agree however truth spoken with contempt = wrong, but even then, the truth can still bring life.
I like alot but if truth is in Christ, then that should bring life? if one had contempt one would ask if they were really searching for truth?

Why do you persist in being a hostile inquisitor?

Truth brings life... His truth... but you know that and so do most of us. It when we speak truth but with a spirit that exudes contempt, that's wrong.

Contempt is what causes contentious people. Look at the liberal agenda... they call us haters and deny God's truth ... but to fear the lord is to hate the world, not people.

Word studies are important, but we must include precepts and principle.

Precepts = laws and rules
Principles = God's thinking for us and exhortations

Jesus is stating that he never set out to be worshipped on a pedestal. That is what people turned him into for their own benefit, not his.

He did not say everyone who belongs to the truth reads the Bible or follows his orders. He said they listen to his voice.

That is what I do, Fundie. I listen to Christ's voice. That voice speaks from a source of pure love. Through that interaction, truth is revealed.
No response to my post, Fundie?

You always tell me to use scripture, so I did - and there's the wisdom of Christ I experience everyday written for all to see, even if literalists don't yet have eyes to see a complete understanding of it.

Perhaps now you will require that I only use your interpretation of scripture?

John 3:21 (King James Version)

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

John 9:5
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

John 12:46
I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The light says . . . "Love God and each other" . . . that is the truth.

True... but how will untruth come? even to fool the elect?
