Last night I was watching a baseball game on TV, between the Oakland A's and the Anaheim Angels. Their pitcher, Nick Adenhart ,22, was pitching a great game. This morning I turned on the news to find out that he was killed in a car accident earlier this morning while returning from the game his car was struck by a mini van running a red light. This compltey stunned me. I have to ask the question though, what is god's role in all of this? Why would he take the life of such a promising indivdual at such a young age? I still cannot get over this. What do you guys think?

Some might get upset in what I have to say but we know that God willed it because He allowed it but it could be many reasons, maybe that pitcher was saved and God called him home, maybe he was not saved and God was done with him or maybe his death will affect another or others in order for that person or persons to be saved furthermore it is always a warning to us to witness to others. Share your faith! If it bothered you that much let this be a wake up call! God's revealed will is for all to be saved.
but I mean this kid just pitched the best game of his life. a 22 year old, his career was about to take off
If he wasn't a Christian then it is beyond tragic. Share your faith so it doesn't happen to anyone else. Our life is but a vapor. It could be our last on earth

Indeed.
City, do you know where you are going if this were to happen to you? Would you mind explaining how and why you know?
I believe that searching to find "God's Will" in an event like this is unproductive and leads to doubt and despair. Did God will Hitler or the holocaust? Better to take comfort in the fact that God loves all of us and loves Nick too.
I do understand what you mean by that, so what better time to know for sure than today?
Has there ever been a time in your life, a specific moment, where you accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?
