Okay to start off with I do not want this to become a homosexual thread but I do want some scripture reference from time to time. Lets really delve into fornication because it is a real problem today that seems to really go unaddressed. We have teen pregnancy, single motherhood, prostitution and so many other aspects of fornication that are dragging us into ever more degridation.

I will openly admit that I am fighting with this sin with my 18 year old son who has been a Christian as long as I have but his hormones are raging and he is rather popular at school.

Fornication
In every form of it was sternly condemned by the Mosaic law #Le 21:9#Le 19:29 De 22:20,21 23-29 23:18 Ex 22:16 See Easton on ADULTERY 109 But this word is more frequently used in a symbolical than in its ordinary sense. It frequently means a forsaking of God or a following after idols #Isa 1:2 Jer 2:20 Eze 16:1ff.#Ho 1:2 2:1-5 Jer 3:8,9

Adultery & Fornication

Sad to say the reality of modern married life has turned out very different from the ideal God planned. All around we see broken marriages and families living in silent turmoil. Sexual confusion abounds, especially concerning adultery and fornication. Note the difference between the two:
  • Adultery is defined in the dictionary as 'voluntary sexual intercourse of a married person with one of the opposite sex other than his/her spouse.' The Old Testament Hebrew word for adultery is na'aph. The New Testament Greek word for adultery is Moicheuo.
  • Fornication is defined as 'voluntary sexual intercourse between an unmarried couple.' The Old Testament Hebrew word for fornication is taznuth. The New Testament Greek word for fornication is porneia. We note in the book of Revelation that fornication can be committed even when one of the parties is married. This is as true for married men as it is for married women. If they have sexual relations with a partner other than a spouse, then they are committing fornication.
Rev.2: 20: Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. 21: And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.
22: Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Here's the Scripture I used in another thread on the topic:

It is a sin:

1 Corinthians 7:2

2Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

Acts 15:20

20But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.

1 Corinthians 5:1

1It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.

1 Corinthians 6:13

13Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Colossians 3:5

5Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

1 Corinthians 10:8

8Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

1 Corinthians 6:18

18Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

2 Corinthians 12:21

21And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed.

Galatians 5:19

19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

Ephesians 5:3

3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

1 Thessalonians 4:3

3For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

Jude 7:7

7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Hebrews 13:4

4Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

So what happens to those who partake in fornication?

Galatians 5:19-21

19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Ephesians 5:5-7

5For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

For those of you living in this sin (I was one of you), I ask that you please consider the ramifications. Yes, all believers will inherit the Kingdom of God, but are you really saved to begin with? Think about this in light of all sins you may have in your life. None of us are perfect and we never will be, but if we love God we will follow His commandments. We may say we are Christians, but do our actions prove this?

If you love Jesus, you will love Him with your whole being. You will strive to walk in His light and flee from sin. This means quit shacking up with your girlfriend or boyfriend! Trust me, I was there--I made excuses and even tried to justify it. But all it did was eat me inside and made me miserable. Don't be scared to stop what you're doing simply because you're afraid of hurting your partner, or that they will leave you. If they leave you because of your love for Christ, they never loved you in the first place .

Confess this sin to God and repent! Shed your old self and put on the new righteous body. Let the Lord lead you down the righteous path. Sin is damning and it destroys us, that's why God wants us to reject it! He knows what it does to us, and He wants none of us to perish and even sent His only Son to die in our place because He loves us so much.

I just wanted to share this with you and hope it reaches someone who is lost or may be a prodigal child of God. Open your heart and let Him work inside of you. Why take the chance in playing with fire? Why not be confident in where you will spend the rest of eternity? Jesus loves you, so love Him back by living a holy life!

The marriage institution was created by man. God doesn't care about paperwork. His only concern is LOVE. If two people are married according to mans laws and one is in love and the other is not, it's a sin. If two people live together and they love each other, it is not a sin. How in this, or any other world, can LOVE be a sin? It's not. No piece of paper can guarantee love. Only the heart can give love. Adam and Eve were married by the virtue of LOVE and not something written on paper and that was not their sin. Man wants people to obey his laws instead of Gods laws so man will naturally tell you it's a sin to live together. Anyone who believes living together in love is a sin, has been super brainwashed to obey MANS laws. God's first and most important law is LOVE. Anything done outside of that is not in harmony with Him.

SO what if it is artificial love and based on something other than God?

There is no artificial love. If you mean pretending to love, then that is not in harmony. Natural love it always changing while Divine Love is the rock of all things.

You are not a Christian, Reverend, so you are ignorant of the truth. Whether you believe it or not, it is a sin according to the Word of God.
