Well Hoosier my friend its called negotiations. You wanna play international diplomacy with the big boys then you don't announce new settlements in East Jerusalem when the VP of the United States is in Israel for a visit.
Tit for tat.. I love the fact that Obama said "well.. nothing else has changed so I"m gonna go eat dinner with my family. Call me down if anything changes".

So from 1776 to 1864 what was this country? I mean no "In God We Trust" on the coins during that time..

I would really love to see when and where this was a unanimous conclusion. I'm also glad it never was because this would mean unsavory things like slavery and absence of women's rights are all part of being a 'Christian nation.' Guess those were the "good old days."

What is it that restricts you from saying this "was" a Christian nation? It was what this country was founded on. It's not now, of course, so feel free to say that if you like. Slavery and no women's rights were the fault of men, not women and neither Christianity nor women had any part in all of that. If Christian women were running the country none of that would have happened. What say you to that?

Show me where this nation was once a theocracy, like say, ancient Israel or some Muslim countries today? There have always been people who WANT it that way and who BELIEVED it that way, but when was Christianity THE law of the land?
If you believe that because Christian ideas and principles saturated the society and thus this made it a 'Christian nation' then you must realize that same saturation generated the notion that slavery was okay and that women were not on par with men in many regards.
That being said, I am willing to wager that MANY who claimed to be Christians back then held and abused slaves and if you disqualified them as Christians, you would have been hard pressed to find enough TRUE Christians to justify this country being a Christian nation back then.

You can read it for yourself right here. The excerpt is from his speech to the Turkish Parliament April 6, 2009. I pulled this directly from the White House website. Remarks By President Obama To The Turkish Parliament | The White House
Obama speaking to Parliament: "I also want to be clear that America's relationship with the Muslim community, the Muslim world, cannot, and will not, just be based upon opposition to terrorism. We seek broader engagement based on mutual interest and mutual respect. We will listen carefully, we will bridge misunderstandings, and we will seek common ground. We will be respectful, even when we do not agree. We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over the centuries to shape the world -- including in my own country. The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans. Many other Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim-majority country -- I know, because I am one of them." (Applause.)

What does this all means......................
Some excerpts from the article:
This coming system is not some prophetically speculative or futuristic fairy tale, but a real world reality outlined in the Bible. It is not some whacko conspiracy theory being advanced by the fringe society. It's an orchestrated agenda which God had planned for before the foundations of the earth.
God sent delusion and this is the result. He sent the delusion to fulfill His Word. It is strong delusion that is causing some Americans to stand behind globalists who will bring about a system outlined in the book of Revelation.
What is happening is in the "all these things must come to pass" (Matthew 24:6) category. We cannot stop such events. We cannot alter the way it is outlined in the Bible. If you have the proper eschatology, all that is happening makes perfect sense. If you follow the Pied Pipers of Amillennialism, Preterism, Replacement Theology, Latter Rain, Kingdom Now, and more, you will be lost in the maze of bizarre current events.

What's the conclusion of the WHOLE MATTER? God spoke.........and HE WILL!! BELIEVE IT, Or NOT!! He COMETH.....................................FINAL ANSWER!!

Why do you guys pretend (I hope) that you have no reading comprehension when beneficial to your cause? The man was just saying that he is an EXAMPLE of an American who has Muslims in his family.
Let's use another example and change Muslim to "Christian."
The United States has been enriched by American Christians. Many other Americans have Christians in their families or have lived in a Christian-majority country -- I know, because I am one of them." (Applause.)
Does it sound like this is saying the person is a Christian or that there are Christians in their family?
Let's pull his quote again and add the implied.
The United States has been enriched by Muslim Americans. Many other Americans have Muslims in their families or have lived in a Muslim-majority country -- I know, because I am one of them who came from a family with Muslims in it." (Applause.)

Quite literally Obama is referring to HIMSELF as someone who has been enriched by Muslim Americans, has had Muslims in his family and has lived in a Muslim-majority country.
He isn't saying he is a Muslim.
EDIT: Oh.. and I don't care what religion he is. I wouldn't care if he worshiped the great Styrofoam cup God. However, many in this country do. I don't bemoan them for that fact. However, making up ridiculous LIES concerning religion for political gain is lower than snake crap in my book.
