Lightbulb What must I do to accept Jesus Christ?

Quote:
Are you ready to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior?

To receive the gift of salvation, you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior by asking Him to forgive you of your sins. When you make this request of Him, it has to be done with a sincerely remorseful heart. It is of no benefit to you to ask Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins unless you're sincerely sorry you are sinning against God's will.

All you have to do, upon reaching this moment of decision, is bow your head in prayer, sincerely ask Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sins, and ask Him to be your Savior having paid the price for your sins through His death on the cross! It's that simple.

There is no specific way to do it. There is no special prayer you have to say word for word. All it takes is a sincere desire to follow Christ and a request for forgiveness of all your sins.
This is wonderful! Go here to see why salvation through Jesus Christ is necessary to receive eternal life!! How to accept Jesus Christ

I would LOVE to see scripture that says this. Because I don't see any that says 'ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins, and ask Him to be your Savior, and you will be saved.

Well, I feel this an important part of believing...
There is John 3:16...
which says whoever believes in Him will have eternal life...
In my opinion, if you truly believe in Him, then you know we are sinners...and if you have ever prayed for forgiveness, you have felt the Holy Spirit come upon you. He is our Savior...this is stated numerous times in the bible. By believing in Him...you are saying you believe He came to save us from our sins...therefore, He is your Savior.
There is Romans 2:5 ...which talks about repentance..
It's late, I'm tired...or I'd add more...so, for now, just some verses for thought....
I believe that if one truly believes in Him, then that person will believe with a repentive heart and know He is their Savior.

There really is no verse in the Bible that says to just "accept him", or to pray a prayer.

It's about repenting and trusting Christ for your salvation.

I agree there is no certain verse that puts it all together in one verse...
There IS John 3:16
and I agree...it's about repenting and trusting Christ for your salvation.

But it's a life long acceptance, not just one instance.

What must I do to accept Jesus Christ?
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said to him "Most assuredly , I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Acts 2:38
Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall received the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 10:8-10
"The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach): That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rev.3:20
Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and he with Me.

Acts 2:21
And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Now this is a post that lists everything God said one must do to be saved. Awesome curly!
