Default Gods Humor in Psalms

The book of Psalms is an amazing portion of the bible, it is perhaps one of the most important areas of the bible for when your hurting.

Lets look at something I find very clever that God did.

Psalm 117 is the shortest psalm.

Psalm 119 is the longest psalm

hmmm ?

that leaves 118 in the middle !

DID YOU KNOW ????

That chapter wise.. (entire bible) this psalm is in the exact middle of all the chapters in the entire bible. ok so what ?

There are: 594 chapters before this & 594 chapters after this.

added up = 118:8

It is better to trust in God - than to put any confidence in man !!

Wow.. God is really very clever, if you take the time.. to search for hidden treasure as it says to do in Proverbs chapter 2 !!!

THAT is AWESOME.

I never knew that.

How perfectly fitting.

And also, how wonderful that the it starts out with :

Psalm 118:1 give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth forever.

and ALSO ends with:

Psalm 118:29 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.

How interesting.

And the middle verse being, (like you said):

118:8

It is better to trust in God - than to put any confidence in man !!

AMEN and AMEN again...

Peace...

??? I dunno - Everytime I am depressed, I rush run with all haste to the book of Psalms for strength!!

If you went one month with no food - how strong and alert do you think you would fare ?

SPIRITUAL FOOD is a must .. other wise you get weak(er).

More humor from Psalms for everyone.... Psalms 137:9 (KJV) Happy shall he be that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

Anyone laughing yet?

Obviously not everything in Psalms is funny. This verse was written as a prediction of what would happen to the Babylonians who had done this same type of thing to the Israelites and other nations they had oppressed. Nowhere does God encourage or celebrate such acts of violence. It is merely a statement regarding the sins of the Babylonians returning upon them.
