Rev 21: 8But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
All Christians are fearful at one time or another. It's just a human foible, certainly not in the same class as the other sins listed in 21:8. Again, someone might have mistranslated the Greek big time here. What does the word "fearful" in the context of earning the punishment of being thrown into the lake of fire mean here?

In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. I John 4:17-18
There ya go.

Again, I can't help but believe that the normal everyday fear we experience at visiting the doctor, or having a close call on the freeway, or flying on an airplane is not the same fear being talked about. I don't know Greek, but I am pretty sure that, just like love, there are several different types of fear and that Greek has a different word for each of them.

Being afraid of flying is NOT the fear that's talked about in Revelations.

Christians can approach the throne of grace with confidence (Eph 3:12) and there's no fear in that confidence. If we come into judgment afraid, then we don't trust Christ's sacrifice.

I can be afraid of falling from the swinging bridge on Grandfather Mountain and still be confident that if I fall and die, my sins are washed white as snow.

Yes all of those things will have their part in the lake of fire. He is a refining fire, and will burn off the dross. Those who think God will DESTROY mankind in fire are not understanding that God's fire is a refining fire. He will not DESTROY His precious, beloved child.... He will only destroy in that child what NEEDS to be destroyed. Their carnal man. Which is full of all sorts of things... fear being a huge thing which needs to be destroyed.

Fear is one of the worst things there is. Fear leads to hatred.
There is no fear in love.
NO FEAR IN LOVE.
FEAR MUST be burned off.

The lake of fire is a good thing.
It purifies.

We are His beloved children.

peace.

No offense but I have read a few of your post, and I'm not sure what you are on about some times well most of the time. There maybe many way's to define fear but it is mostly dependant on its source and outcome fear of the Lord is healthy inspite of what is being taught to day about Jesus being Dr. Phil and all, or that he is some type of care bear. Any time one see's fear in reguard to the Lord it is a reverant fear one of awe and or humility

Therefore, you kings, be wise;
be warned, you rulers of the earth.

11 Serve the LORD with fear
and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry
and you be destroyed in your way,
for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

Fear will always be present in the Glory of the Almighty God I don't think there is a point when we will be above the expression of respect and fear in the presents of the Lord that seems to happen more now.
