That is how most I know in real life and on forums act.

One of my good friends, his dad is the hardest of hardcore Christians but he is actually a kind and understanding man. He is one of the very few I've met.

Stop doing it. None of us is not a Christain because we have somehow not heard the Good News or, against all odds, not already been over-saturated with all this witnessing stuff. It's only already everywhere, after all. More is not the answer. Keep it to yourselves. We aren't interested. We already have our own ideas about things that, to us, make yours look like so much peanut brittle. You are trying to sell cats to people who are severely allergic to dander. It isn't some flaw in your sales pitch that's keeping stock from flying off the shelves.

So once you cut out all this opening our hearts to Jesus malarkey, you're going to have some extra time on your hands. Here's how you can spend it -- start manifesting some sense of respect for the religious and philosophical stances of others. You think we all got where we are by being stupid? Or lazy? You think we didn't put as much or more time, effort, thought, and study into getting where we are as you did in getting where you are? Pretty darned presumptuous of you all to be going around thinking of yourselves as some bunch of dammed Albert Schwietzers and all of us as some bunch of hapless, backward native peoples whose lives you all are going to magically improve for our own benefit with all that special wisdom of yours.

So go read the parable of the publican and the pharisee one more time and decide which one is you. Then get yourselves down off that faux high horse of yours and realize that you have all the answers in your own heads only. The rest of the world sees you as a bunch of vain, annoying, arrogant interlopers.

PS: No personal offense intended at all there, kawgpz550. You did ask and all, but that was still for every brain-dead bobo who ever cornered me in the metro with that 'Excuse me, sir, have you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?' BS that I was too much of a gentleman to just plain humiliate out in public like that...

That is wonderful to hear Shadow. That's how Christians should be. One of the goals of being a Christian is to strive to be Christ-like everyday.

Wow, I couldn't have said it better. So true. No one is unaware of Christianity. It's everywhere. Please stop telling us about it.

Yeah he is an awesome guy. Though I'm not sure how he would feel if he knew I wasn't a Christian now, but I don't want to find out. I think he would probably be cool but concerned. No point in bringing it up though, I know he doesn't. I respect him very much though.

It is unfortunate that there are so many like this. I think it is all too common and a major problem. The people that act this way just do not understand what they are doing in the long run.
However, I also believe that some of these people that act "Holier than thou" or "self-righteous" really may not be acting that way at all. Perhaps that is just how some of them are being perceived because of PAST accounts with someone else that left a bad taste...Just a thought

I'm trying hard not to take it personally lol. You did kind of get a little mean (just a little though ) but I won't hold it against you as long as you won't hold it against me that I AM a Christian lol just kidding!

However...I do appreciate your reply to what I asked, however, would you terribly mind answering Hoosiers original questions? I really did not intend to highjack his thread...I was merely trying to add a little (to get a little more feedback) rather than monopolizing Same for you Shadow...could you pelase answer Hoosier's questions as well?

Sorry Hoosier!!!

The two things I dislike most:

1. Constant threats that if I don't join them and believe exactly as they do, I will burn in hell forever no matter what decisions I make in life.

2. Constantly looks down on everyone else. Hatred/intolerance towards homosexuals and others. Basically judging others and invading their lives.

Things I like about TRUE Christians:

1. Generally helpful and moral.

Exclamation Hmm...

Here is PROOF that I like and respect Hoosier.

I am not typing a couple pages of evangelistic and apologetics material right now.

Come on, folks. I've read these few reasons, and, to me, they're not good enough. My stepfather was in the same boat you are. He told everyone, "STOP telling me about Jesus! I've heard it before, and I'm not converting!"

But one man kept stopping by. Not preachy, but just saying, "Hey, is there any chance I can pick you up for church tomorrow?" That's all.

One day, my stepdad got so fed up with it, that he said, "FINE! I'll go!" So he went.

And, there, he did what he was determined not to do. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Because that's how the Holy Spirit works.

So...I'm not saying that this would happen to all of you, but I AM saying that the over-saturation reason is a bit recycled at this point. Give me some theological reasons. Give me some researched reasons. Give me truth.

I know we don't want to hear that we encroach upon your privacy. We already know we do that by merely mentioning His name.

So let's hear it. Why not a Christian? Why do you not like us? And what DO you like about us? I look forward to the more focused replies.

Thanks for reading, friend.

If so many people are insulted by these christian posts why do they keep it going. It's not like we are in their face at their front door. Some posters seem so mad, I can almost see the foaming mouths. Personally, I think these people are being torn between the truth and what the devil wants them to believe.

Contention is of the devil and I don't think that anyone who engages in that is acting very Christlike. That said I do think some Christians including myself are getting a little ticked off at the extremes about not liking Christians. With one exception every Christian I've met on this board has been very courteous and kind and not pushy at all. I have never encountered a pushy, in your face Christian in my life. I guess a big part of that is where you live. Sure if you live in the Bible Belt you're gonna get these obnoxious, pushy, in your face Christian fanatics. Just know that this is the exception not the rule. There's extreme behaviours in all kinds of group and organizations in life, Why are the Christians the ones so picked on?? Like spike said REAL reasons not this recycled, regurgitated garbage. To me that's kinda a cop out anyways.
You say just stop spreading your message. Well let me ask you if you had something that was close to your heart and you sincerely believed it to be true wouldn't you wanna share it? I think it's a wonderful thing for people to spread the Gospel of Christ but I don't agree that anyone should be pushy about it and a simple "I'm not interested" should be enough to turn them away.
