Unfortunately, not even all of us "Christians" get it. Sometimes I look back on how I reacted on occaision or what I said to someone out of frustration or anger and I'm ashamed. It is always my desire to walk in love, but I've still got a long way to go.

Have a blessed evening...
We all have a long way to go...
I don't know of any Christian (including Catholics, to be clear, as they are part of the Christian body) who do not miss the mark.
Gosh, I mess up all the time - it's what we do with our mess-up that makes the difference and sets us apart. God's Grace is sufficient.

Oh yeah, does anyone remember the song "And they'll know we are Christians by our love, by our love, aannnddd they'llll knooowww we are Christians by our love!"

Anyone who does not believe the way Christians do...thank you for your POVs. Thank you for your honest and forthright comments about how you see the church and how you perceive Christians. You have taught me a lot and I appreciate ALL of you...whether we've disagreed in threads or not, you are awesome!

Could everyone who does not believe the way Christians do, do me a favor? Tell me two things you do not like about Christians (be specific) and please tell me one thing you DO like about Christians. Please don't hurt yourselves too badly on the second one.

All REAL Christians...please do not post in this thread. Please take a moment to read what everyone has to say about us. Reflect on it. And thank the God we serve for these truly wonderful people. I don't know about anyone else but I'm not on here to recruit. I'm not on here to save anyone...that's not MY job.

Now get to work people! And know that everyone that I've encountered in this forum is in my prayers regularly! And you can always pm me with prayer requests...you don't have to believe as I do for me to pray for you!
SEE!!! This is what I meant in the "BAFFLED " thread. Hoosier asked a very specific and direct question and then He Specifically Requested that All Real Christians" not post; and what happened most of them posted anyway showing no respect or reverence for the 'authority given to Hoosier guy.
I will sum it up again as Me Me Me. I, I , I, What I want ,When I want it,Make me fell good with another bless me and mines message and a song, and I'm ready to go home until next Sunday"......I could not help but read this for this first time and noticed the.............aaaaaaaaaaah "What the Hay", I can't explain it like I feel it, But Spiritual authority starts in the bases, if you can't follow Hoosier as authority, how can we follow Christ is all I'm saying, My question again is why I brought this thread back over here. What are you really here for.( For the exception of a few true followers of Christ)?????????

Can I get a clarification of what a "real" christian is?

Honestly the use of "All REAL Christians" has a tone of "holier than thou" in it. Maybe it was meant that way.. maybe not.

That would be my biggest dislike.

The thing I like the most is a genuine "want" to do good things.

I just feel that sometimes somebody's own "realness" blinds them from really helping.

I am really hoping more people reply the way you are expecting them too. This is a great post and I feel it will do me A LOT of good to see what non-believers think of us (good and bad).
I like to debate and share my POV's, however, I really try to NOT "preach" to anyone. Everyone seems to be turned off and pushed further away from Christianity the more you try to help them out by witnessing to them. Witnessing is my weakest point as a Christian, simply because I am afraid of it having an adverse effect. I don't know how to effectively witness without hurting the cause...it's a catch 22. The Bible says to witness and be a testimony to non-believers, but then when you do people get defensive and turn the other way...
To the NON-Believers: You may not be able to answer this (there may be no answer) Could you also perhaps tell us HOW Christians could more effectively witness to you without pushing you further away?
Though it may seem you are only pushing people away, every time you witness you are sowing seeds in people's hearts and they may not grow right away, but if the soil of their heart is good, god will make it grow in his due time. Don't be discouraged or shrink back.
