Beloved, one day Jesus will return for His church.
The people that say Jesus has already returned lie.
The people that say, "Oh you missed the return" lie.
case closed.
No, Alan. The people who say Jesus has not already returned in THAT first-century generation as He promised make our Lord out to be a liar and a false prophet before an unbelieving world.
The people who say Jesus has not already returned within the reasonable time frame of SOON as the inspired writers predicted He would, make His Apostles out to be liars and false teachers before an unbelieving world.
The people who say Jesus has not already returned, even though the NT clearly teaches that He would return in THAT first-century generation, make the Church out to be a liar and a false religion.
You will continue to wait till you breathe no more, and Jesus still will not have returned because He already did! It is your time to waste.
Furthermore, it is a sure sign of immaturity when a believer calls another believer with whom he disagrees a liar. There are many good, God-fearing, authentic believers who hold varying views on these issues. To call them liars is to boldly accuse them of intentionally misunderstanding and misinterpreting the Scriptures. I do not think we should go there, Alan!
Anybody ever heard of the Infant Baptism Church? No?
How about the Premillennial, Pre-wrath Church? No?
Then perhaps someone has heard about the First Postmillennial, Post-Trib. Church!
Or what about the Premillennial, Mid-Trib. Church?
And don't forget about the Anti-literal-seven Days of Creation Church.
How about the We Sprinkle Believers Baptist Church or the We Immerse Believer Church Baptist?
How about We Don't Let Women Teach Church?
What about the First Calvinist Church or the First Arminian Church?
And don't forget the King James Only Church or the Any Translation's Good Enough for Us Church.
Has anyone ever heard of a We're in the Last Days Church or the Jesus is Coming Soon Church? No?
And even if you could find churches like those mentioned above, they would probably still contain people with varying views.
Preterism, like Dispensationalism or Post-millennialism is not what identifies a Church by its name is it? These are only part of the doctrines of a church. Preterism is scattered throughout the "denominations" and throughout nondenominationalism.
Many preterists simply stay home because of the "Christian" tolerance they find in the mainstream churches. There are many preterists, at this point, who simply meet in homes. As time goes by, however, this will change.
The biblical teaching of preterism is sometimes found in churches such as Church of Christ or covenant and reformed churches.
The point is that one cannot find the preterist perspective in the names of churches any more than one can determine amillennialism, premillennialism or postmillennialism. Many doctrines of individual churches are not readily known apart from visiting or calling a church to find out its doctrinal views on salvation, last things, baptism, church government, etc.
When you find the churches I listed above, you might find some preterist churches! My pastor, for example, is a preterist. The name of the church is Ebenezer Bible Church! Who would have known?
What were you expecting to find, Alan? The First Preterist Church of Chicago?
The preterist teach that, but they are not christians, its a cult..
So then only the Cults teach this lie?
No Christian church at all teaches it?,,,,,,good!
