Did God purpose the fall of man? No
Did God want man to fall? No
Did God not want man to fall? Yes, they were to always walk in holiness, as are God' believers today.
Is the fall of man, the fault of man, or the plan of God? Fault of Man
I suppose its useful to define what "the fall of man" is. This is when Adam & Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thus sin entered the world, and then creation was cursed.
I think this verse gives us our answer:
Romans 8:20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope
21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
What do you think?
Replied in red. God did not know that Adam & Eve would sin, though He could have known. It's free will.
God knows the beginning and the end. He is outside of time and knew from the start until the end - how things would go. The amazing thing is....if God knows all things, from beginning to end.......then Jesus on the cross knew WHO he was dying for!!!! Wow!! ! Jesus knew me and the ones who would follow him. He knew me?!!! Before I was born?!!..and all those who are called according to his purposes. This is an amazing thought!!!
True. I suppose God allowed for Mans free will, yet being all knowing, he knew and greived when they turned away from him. Good point though.
Revealed through an end-time prophet, and confirmed with the scriptures, God did not look into Adam & Eve's future to see what they would do. He put complete trust and love in them, but they turned from Him. How sad!
Likewise, when we come to the cross, we can choose to walk with God on the narrow road or turn back.
Why would God be grieved about something that He knew would happen? Why would God repent of making man if He already knew how they would turn out?
(Isaiah 1:18) Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD ...
God reacts to how we react and we react to how God reacts-God orchestrates things in order for us to fulfill His plan sometimes we do things God doesn't like and that grieves Him. God was sorry He made man but He didn't change His mind-He didn't scrap the project, His preordained plan went on evidenced by that we humanity is still here and sinning everyday. God was sorry He was going to destroy the Ninevites when they repented, does that mean God almost made a mistake? No it just means since the Ninevites had a change of heart and repented God was sorry for what He was going to do to them. If the Ninevites continued their evil ways then God would have destroyed them.
Again if God is not all knowing then He would not know Jesus was going to die on the cross

He did look into Adam & Eves future because that is why Jesus is the lamb slain from the foundation of the world
That is why they were only made living souls and Jesus was made a quickening spirit
Quote:
1Co 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
1Co 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
1Co 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
1Co 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
How can you have confidence in God who did not know when he made man that they would rebel - that when he made angels he did not know that they would rebel. (I personally don't believe a third of the angels "fell" that myth is derived from a scripture in the OT and a passage from Revelation)
If God has been fallible in the past - he can be fallible in the future too - God says he does not change. It is a contradiction to say that God is all knowing, but also did not know
