I hope that June understands that most of the Christians in this thread do not believe that when our babies die that they immediately become grownup and suffer the torments of hell, because God threw them away, because God didn't "pick" them,
Agreed. June please don't lose hope - I realize you don't believe there is a God, but here is a different perspective some of us here might have. God is the father of all, and He is a good father. If we humans, with our mortal failings, would have tried our best to raise a little baby in a good and loving manner, how much more capable will God the father be able to raise that baby? No, God will not send any little babies to hell, as no loving father would do that.
While the death of a baby is sad for us who are living right now, it is not the end. In a sense God has saved that child from a lot of suffering that it may have gone through in this life. And one day we will all meet again and greet each other in loving arms. For the time being, there will be some temporal grief (which might seem like a long time), but in the end we all die and this life is just a vapor. The real life begins AFTER we ALL die.
Do you understand this? Jesus was refering to the physical location of the Valley of Hinnom where the fires never went out because they were burning garbage 24/7.
I believe God as given us all common sense . I also believe June as enough common sense to understand that some of this thread is baloney and not God's heart .

i dont care about all that false teaching and rejection of the truth your presenting here is the Truth:
matt 23:
33Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
The word ghenna:
Hell is the place of the future punishment call "Gehenna" or "Gehenna of fire". This was originally the valley of Hinnom, south of Jerusalem, where the filth and dead animals of the city were cast out and burned; a fit symbol of the wicked and their future destruction.

This is where you are mistaken. This is the dictionary meaning from Strong's. But this meaning came to be applied after the time of Jesus. The word should have been left transliterated as Gehenna: which carries the meaning of the literal place of Gehenna - the valley where dead bodies and garbage were burned up. It can also be used as a metaphor for judgment. The meaning of "eternal torment" or "eternal hell" was added in later. Even your dictionary meaning above doesn't say it is eternal.
