So what you are saying Verna is you agree with Little Elmer but it does not apply to you but everyone else , because you are in complete control of your thought life and Adamic nature ?

Law is the way the need for us to distinguish among acceptable and unacceptable behaviors is LEARNED . . . to establish the proper "state of mind" toward Life and God's purpose for us. Obedience is a first step until maturity provides the awareness of what is the actual desired "state of mind" (heart) behind the control of our behaviors. Reward and punishment is the most primitive and early of the methods for teaching. We are well beyond that (or should be) because the Holy Spirit is within us and Jesus's example and teachings were so clear. We are to "love God and each other" . . . everything else follows naturally from that. "Obeyers" are simply stagnating at a primitive "state of mind" which can (and does) produce serious misunderstandings that are a stumbling block to our spiritual maturity.
