Fine, let me explane this then.

Christians take the name of our Lord as their own.
The name "Christian" is our way of pointing right back to our master.
Thus, you can see the foolishness of claiming to be a "christian" and then turning away from the very teachings of Christ.

Explain what? What you call foolishness I call freedom.

You stick around and see how they twist and turn in the wind rather than face the fact that every darn word i have posted is fully supported by the Text.

jesus gave clear guidelines about when a christian can seek a divorce.
I fully support a christian getting a divorce, as long as they do so with within the guidelines given by our Lord.

I do NOT support seeking a divorce if the person is getting advice based only on a lot of wishful thinking and "false experiences" that lead to false conculsions.

The truth is that GOD HATES divorce...hates it...
and no place in the Bible is a Christian told that must get a divorce....

so there you go, case closed!

There is great freedom outside the Christian faith to reach back and pull out all kinds of ideas, and kneel before them as 'truth"

However for the Christian we dont get to invent things that Christ spoke clear about.
Divorce is one topic that Jesus laid down the law over....we cant disagree with what he taught and be truly seen as interested in the person of Christ at all....

I think one of the reasons Jesus is so firm in the Bible about maintaining the bond or marriage is that his own mom and dad almost got divorced....Jesus almost ended up in a single parent home.
Thus the firmness Christ gave his teachings on where and only when it is not sinful to divorce

So what if they did? Joseph didn't want to raise another man's kid.

The point is that all the people that are pushing the speedy divorce over non-bible reasons , dont understand that they are going up against Jesus in a very personal way.

The harm they cause him is personal....this is something he spoke very clearly about.

There are many questions that Jesus did not speak clearly about, and for such questions we have to draw out our views from the few texts we have.

But that is not the case with the issue of Divorce!

Jesus spoke very clearly about when and only when a Christian can seek a divorce.

My advice, better not cross Jesus on this one kids....
